Went to this coffee shop with my husband today, 10/28 sometime between 9:40-10am, excited for a cozy morning treat, but left feeling frustrated and completely unappreciated. Service? Non-existent. We ordered a Nutella pastry, a blueberry lemon muffin, and a Fredericksburg smoothie with a few simple requests: no peaches, almond milk, and almond butter. Shouldnât be that hard, right? Wrong.
When I asked for no peaches, the barista condescendingly asked, âSo, just milk and banana?â Real welcoming touch, thanks. Not a âthank youâ or any courtesy whatsoever. Then, when the order was ready, she yells out, âpeach banana smoothie with no peach!â in the most petty tone you can imagine. At that point, Iâm just trying to get my order and go.
But hereâs the kicker: she hands me the smoothie and then casually mentions theyâre out of almond milk. Iâm lactose intolerant, so I asked what milk she used instead. She corrects herself and says oh no I did use almond milk. Turns out, she didnât add the almond butter I paid extra for. And did she offer a refund for the missing ingredient? Of course not. Not even a sorry for the screw-up.
Itâs not about the money; itâs about the complete lack of respect. Mistakes happen, but attitude and accountability go a long way. This place...
Read moreI was giving Blanco Brew the benefit of the doubt, things were going well. Then they heated up a chocolate scone when I said specifically not to. -- I thought it was going to be fine, but it wasn't. What I like about the chocolate scone is its crumbly nature and solid chunks of chocolate. When it's heated up, those qualities are completely ruined. It becomes soft and the chocolate gets melted and it's a disgusting mess. And it's just deeply disappointing. I hope the wildlife that got to finish the scone enjoyed it.
Maybe I'll try again in a few months. But Blanco Brew ascended to the top of my s&&t list. - the week prior to the scone incident they also botched my drink, but it was an easy fix, so no issues with that one.
Just stop de facto heating everything up. If I want it heated up, I'll tell you. Okay?
They also heated up other food in the past, when I said not to. But it was a cinnamon roll and not a scone, so it was fine. But when you heat up my scones after I tell you no? I'm not happy. I'm more disappointed than anything, because I really just wanted to enjoy that scone, but when you heat it up, you change all of...
Read moreI visited for the first time as a chaperone of a small group (13) of adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with another staff member. We ordered all items in an organized and timely manner, and all orders were correct and delicious. However, the main barista (black hair with orange/pink/red streaks) and most staff in general had a MAJOR ATTITUDE. We were not greeted with smiles or courtesy, even though it was pretty obvious that the majority of our group had disabilities (downs syndrome, autism, etc) and almost felt rushed to pick up orders (maybe they were frustrated at our large group during a somewhat busy time.... if so then must not be a well equipped staff present). I even felt the need to mention that we were there representing that population because of the general attitude given off by the previously mentioned employee. One member of our group had a minor seizure during our time there (my coworker and I handled it) and at least another barista was kind enough to ask if we needed anything. Would not return or spend my own money there. Great job representing the character of...
