Maryhill winery treats customers “generically”
Maryhill is more worried about their brand than their customers.
On June 5th my Friends and I came to Woodinville for a farewell and wine tasting day. We live over an hour from Woodinville. While there we stopped by the Maryhill tasting room. I tried a wine I enjoyed and asked about purchasing a case. Without stating that they were currently out of that particular wine, I purchased a case. I paid for the case and was told they were getting it for me. I was then informed they did not have it, and I would need to return another day the next week to get it. Specifically, I was informed that it would be available in a week and that I would also receive two complimentary tastings for the trouble.
After waiting a month without receiving even a courtesy call, I called Maryhill after the July 4th weekend. I was informed by Morgan Overholt that Maryhill still did not have it, but she promised they would call back the next week and it would be there.
A month after that initial call, on August 5th, Morgan finally called to say it was in. She told me they would have the case for me when I came in, and that I would still get two tastings due to the extensive delay and lack of communication.
I informed Morgan I could not come in that weekend, but I would be available to drive up to Woodinville the weekend of 14 August. Morgan stated she would be there and I could come retrieve the case and enjoy my tastings.
The same weekend she said I could come in, (today the 14th of August) my husband, two friends, and I drove over an hour to Woodinville. We decided to visit Maryville and celebrate our anniversary, pick up the wine, and enjoy our tasting. Even though it was two months late, at least the case of wine was finally there and we could enjoy our tastings.
Imagine my surprise when we show up to the winery and Maryhill is closed for a special event. We walked in and were met by several people standing around wondering why we were there. When we informed them who we were they said “oh sorry it’s upstairs” but you won’t be able to do...
Read moreMaryhill Winery is such a gem! The whole experience felt relaxed, welcoming, and well worth it. The wine flight is only $25, which honestly feels like a steal considering the quality of the wines you get to try. The best part? If you end up buying bottles to take home (which you’ll probably want to), they waive the flight fee completely. That’s such a great deal and makes the visit even more enjoyable.
On top of the wines, the food was superb. We ordered a mix of appetizers and sandwiches, and everything came out fresh and delicious—perfect pairings with the wine. It’s clear they put just as much care into the food as they do into the wine.
Another plus is how easy the visit was. No wait times, no reservations needed—it really takes the stress out of planning and makes it a perfect spontaneous stop. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, making it a great spot to relax with friends, enjoy some great food, and discover new wines.
Overall, Maryhill Winery offers amazing value, fantastic wines, and excellent food. Definitely a must-visit if you’re...
Read moreI called on Wednesday May 12th and made a reservation for a party of 12 for wine tasting on Sunday May 16th at 1:00pm. On Sunday May 16th I called at 10:15am to confirm my reservation and add 2 people to my existing reservation. The lady that answered the phone cut me off when I was speaking and said that I do not have a reservation because they only accept reservations at 12pm. I explained to her who I spoke to when I made my reservation and she cut me off and proceeded to speak to me in a condescending tone. I told her the lady offered our group indoor wine tasting or outdoor glass wine. She told me I didn’t call the right place and that what I was saying was not true but I have the call log on my phone to prove I did Mary Hill Winery. I asked if there was any way she could accommodate us and she was rude. I told her we would be taking our business and money elsewhere and she proceeded to laugh and be rude. I will never return to Mary Hill winery, there are plenty of wineries with great wine and far better customer service...
