Here goes my review of this wonderfully located restaurant conveniently next to lambert st louis Airport. I am still in the middle of eating. This French toast I ordered is the best French toast I've ever had. Even better than my dads or my own. Says alot to since thats the main thing I love to make at home. There was 2 servers when I walked in. Unsure of their names but the 1st one who greeted me was an African American woman. Older. She had such high energy and charisma and immediately felt welcomed when I walked thru the door. My server came over promptly with a water and asked what I would like to drink. She seemed shy, middle aged, swing bob, blonde woman. She was super friendly though. Shy is a good thing for me. She was sweet. Reminds me of my aunt. Probably would give her shirt off her back for someone if prompted. There was only 2 other tables when I got in. The coffee came hot and the orange juice didn't taste like it came out of a can. Both plusses. The coffee isn't strong (thank god). Sugar, salt and pepper were all 3 on the table which during Covid I didnt agree with. The reason I give this establishment a 4 out of 5 is for a couple reasons. The brand of bacon they use just isn't good. It wasn't burnt or bad from the cook. Was just not tasty. Didnt taste like bacon. Id recommend getting sausage if anything. Also the floor was sticky but thats with any restaurant, cant possibly get all the grease and all the things people track in off the floor. Last reason for the 4 out of the 5 is like I said the sugar, salt and pepper on the table during Covid. They do require masks to walk in though. All in all, this place is in a great location, lots of parking, music playing on their speaker (not too loud so you can enjoy conversation), food comes hot and quick and the servers are the best. I only live a mile away now and I will...
Read moreI was very disappointed because I really loved the food and completely enjoyed my first visit... very great food, service and help, but it was also very reasonable in price!! The second visit was no where anything like my first... the head waitress came to my table and asked me if I had enough money to cover our food... she then informed me she wasn't talking to me but rather my daugter, at this point alot of customers was catching on to this very unprofessional way of handling business and with her, I clearly thought their issue was resolved(truth be known, it was just their issue)! At that point our waitress came over and started with the same song and dance which of course had every customer basically zoomed in on us!! Needless to say I feel a very BIG apology is in order and really that meal that never made it to the cook... should really be on the house because I've never skipped out on my bill! So it wouldn't hurt them to encourage me back to spend money because a place like this has better judgment then some false allegation that has no bearing on myself besides the fact of their own problems that apparently was made up due to us not being able to face our accuser (told by the manager) "oh I can't let you do that"!! Why could she not? We had to get up and leave by the vibes in this restaurant making me feel like I DID do wrong!! The only wrong I've done..was walk into the resturant...where I now guess it doesnt matter who lies on me and my daughter (haters are gonna hate)!! Crazy but true the manager needs to address this as...

Yeah, that's very strongly worded. I called around 9:50 on a Sunday morning. A young woman answered with a snippy tone, and I asked if I could place an order for pick up. She said "yeah, who's this?" I stated the name for pick up and she said hold on. I heard her shout something about a waffle to someone else, then she came back to the phone and said "who's this?" again. I repeated "I called to place a pick up order for (name)." At which point she proceded to tell me they don't do pick up orders on weekends, with the same unprofessional and short tone and hung up.
This was basically enough to make me never want to give that restaurant a single dollar. Her tone and lack of professionalism when answering the phone leaves much to be desired. Had she simply said they didn't do call in orders on the weekend before I went on hold, that would've been fine. It almost seemed like by her "yeah who's this" that they would do a pick up, depending on who you are. I understand being busy and under pressure, but you simply don't speak to customers the way she did - and certainly not when you weren't given a reason to be so rude.
Update: wait times on weekends are about an hour for carry out. The food is good... But not good enough to outweigh the customer service and long wait. You can go to any other generic diner serving breakfast and expect...
