You can tell a lot more about anything, people, places or businesses, by how they respond to crisis or failure, than how they respond to success and normalcy.

This J. Christopher has been a staple for me for a month now. I come in and get a cappuccino and eggs Benedict on the Tuesday when it’s cheap. And until today, the quality on both has been perfect.

Today, there were a few new waitstaff, one of whom didn’t seem to have ever used the espresso maker or frothed milk before. Things went as you’d imagine in the making of my cappuccino. But unlike so many places where waitstaffing is an “eat your young” industry, everyone stopped to help her, show her a few pointers and get her back on track. The result was a solidly made, if slightly poofy, cappuccino. Tasted great.

The eggs Benedict also had an issue, one of the two egg yolks was as perfect, jammy and golden as always, but when I cut into the other, it smelled and looked and tasted off. We’re still recovering from a crisis. Chickens are getting over nutritional issues, supply lines are still trying to sort themselves out. Bad eggs happen. I’ve seen 2 in the past month in otherwise good batches of eggs in my own home.

I let the waitstaff know, they offered to remake it but I was mostly full and honestly put off eggs that day, so they comped me the dish. They were friendly, professional, and negotiative.

I don’t leave reviews for everything, only the standouts. This place was a cute little shop that I was eating completely serviceable food at, but this experience of seeing how they handled situations where things went awry, has made me feel they are worth writing about. Can’t speak to any other J Chris location, but this...

My sister recommended this place and just raved about it.

Walking in, the place is wide open, bright and very inviting.

We ordered the Benny, Savory Chicken Crepe, Huevos Avocado and the Traditional breakfast.

The Benny was perfection. An eggs Benedict can sometimes come across as heavy, but some how this was so light.

The Savory Chicken Crepe has chicken, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes wrapped into a crepe and covered with hollandaise sauce. This was not something that we would have normally ordered, but boy were we glad to have stepped out of the box to try it. We would order it again and again. It was so delicious and SAVORY!

The Huevos Avocado is normally an English muffin topped with sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, melted cheese and a poached egg. It is also served with black beans. My niece altered it a bit by getting it with white toast and subbing the black beans with breakfast potatoes. She said it was “avocado-y” and “good” 🤣

The Traditional is eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes BUT for two dollars more you can add an extra egg and bacon.

Our server, Bailey, was on top of it. So friendly and so attentive.

This place is such a win and in such a cute area. Definitely stop here!

I've been to several J.Christopher's and I've not had a disappointing experience before... However this one was disappointing and surprising based on previous experiences. This was the first time I visited this particular location and unfortunately it will be the last. From the extremely long wait times (not just to be seated but to be served as well) to the underwhelming food and the incorrect order having to be sent back twice. Our server was friendly and helpful but the kitchen completely let her down on multiple occasions. My food was cold and dry, my girlfriend's food was hot. Her order was wrong (wrong style of eggs), we sent it back, it came back with the right eggs... But they were on top of the wrong eggs. So the kitchen just basically cooked some new eggs and plopped them on her original order. We sent that back too. While we were waiting to be seated, we witnessed a young couple not only be ignored at an outside table but when they did finally get served they had to send food back as well. Really disappointing. The only reason I even gave a 2 star rating is because of the previous experiences I've had at other J.Christopher's restaurants. Hopefully this...

My friend and I really like coming here for breakfast/brunch so we meet here about once a month or so. The service is always great, the atmosphere is laid back and eclectic yet refined, the seating is spacious with tables and booths. Today (Jan 1, 2025) we came in about 1pm, and didn't have to wait for a seat. For my entree I had the Eggs Christopher which is poached eggs on roasted turkey, bacon and tomato on an English muffin; very good flavors all together. I had the side of fruit and the blueberry crunchcakes which I always order because they are delicious and a perfect blend of sweet crunchy and blueberry. I really enjoy this place and highly recommend. Seating 5 Food 5 Service 5 Parking 4 Location 5 Cleanliness 5

We did Sunday Brunch around 9:00 and got in before there was a line. We found they they were “out” of several items such as hot chocolate, paper napkins, and small takeout containers. Sort of odd, but perhaps it’s all pandemic-related. The food was good and fresh. Our group enjoyed it. My friends from Wisconsin had never had grits; they loved the spicy J Grits. Our server was super nice and the manager stopped by to check on us; that’s appreciated. Lines form during peak hours as expected. COVID COUNTERMEASURES (for those interested): There’s a small outdoor patio with 3 tables. There is plexiglass between the booths. Most staff were not in masks and they don’t require them for their customers.
