Update 2025: Unacceptable service for average food. Hilariously dumb email and note from their manager below.
We ordered five large subs (costing over $17 each), and the workers stapled a note to our box that threatened to cancel our future orders unless we called a day in advance. The note called our order a "catering" sized order.
On Jimmy John's menu, the large subs we ordered could come with a drink and chips for a "meal deal." We weren't ordering party size subs that would feed an entire business and stretch across a table; we ordered from their regular menu for only five people.
I submitted a survey to Jimmy John's before writing this review to communicate our concerns. I specifically stated that we were not happy with their response which felt threatening and very inhospitable. I rated their service and atmosphere low on that survey as I have on this evaluation because their note was clearly not what you should expect when you order meals for a family. Then, I received an email whining about how I filled out the survey. I have included a picture of their note and a.screenshot of their email (below) because they repeatedly criticized us for the size of the order. They went on to tell us that their organization is not capable of fulfilling such a "large order" without advanced notice. We didn't even get our subs toasted. They were putting loose meat, lettuce and cheese on bread.
Although the food is okay, it's not remotely good enough to be harassed by workers. Penn Station and Subway and Jersey Mike's don't complain if we put in a carryout order (just to name a few). They train their staff to handle putting meat on bread.
Additionally, prices have gone up to the point where this is no longer a reasonable value. According to their whining email, an order over $40 is what Jimmy John's considers "catering." Therefore, at $17 per sub, more than two people ordering a sub would be catering...? Good luck with that business model. Oh, and I noticed that if I selected drive thru, it would charge me an extra $5 instead of walking into the store to pick up my food... "Freaky Fast" became freaky greedy and whiney.
I recommend that Jimmy John's train employees to (1) prepare a family sized meal and (2)...
Read moreAsked for no tomatoes on my girlfriend's sandwich. But it was made with, then asked for them to fix it, tomatoes just picked off. No new sandwich made. Didn't know this until we got home. We had to toss out sandwich, can't eat tomatoes, allergies. A whole new sandwich should have been made, period. Asked for a 16 inch as well, for myself, and was given an 8 inch. Honestly very bad attitude from staff we have encountered there. Except Alex. I am not sure if it is this franchise. Will try the other...
Read moreThe Wooster Jimmy Johnâs sucks! We tried to order a giant sub today and we were told they were running low on bread so they couldnât make it. The employee said he could cut the bread skinnier to make the sandwich⌠um NO! They eventually made two smaller subs (basically the same size as a giant, so what the heck?) The bread was stale and they didnât even make the sandwiches...
