I heard about all the rave on social media about Ziggy bombs and had to try it out down near City Hall in their new location on I think it was Franklin Street if I remember right. I wanted to try the Pupu platter bomb and see how it was. First off atmosphere wise inside there. it seemed cozy and slightly less than spacious, about the size of your typical dunkin donuts give or take.
Nearby me was a tv blaring with 90's hip hop music videos and ziggy logos on their screen . I was born in 95 so these music vids brought me back to the old vh1 music videos playing on my living room tv back in the day. So cool. Now if you're gonna sit in a booth just know , sit slowly as the booth might just slide out from under you if you sit too quick or if you're almost 6 feet tall like i'am. Also they recycle their glass bottles so dont throw them out, the flys love to also hover over them too .Anyways now onto the food and bev details..
First off, make sure to have plenty of napkins already pulled outta the dispenser as it is about to get sticky and messy....now for the pupu bomb it was layered nicely, spare ribs were yummy and a little greasy but, oh well. The crab rangoons were alright, the cream cheese tasted a little off inside of them and the chicken fingers were scarce in the amount on this but. otherwise good. The actual steak wasn't even hot underneath all of this stuff and the cheese must of been American cheese because it tasted like it (like that plastic looking store bought stuff.)
The french fries were seasoned with something but, not terrible. Nothing special, just your mediocre French fries. The black cherry soda with the Ziggy name on it was probably my favorite part of the whole $30+ meal and hey that's just my opinion. Overall not the greatest place and not terrible though. I'll come back but, not in a hurry. This place is alright. Just not gonna...
Read moreI gotta tell ya DO NOT Be Fooled This Place Is A Letdown! I felt like my mouth got violated after eating here. My trip to Ziggy Bombs Was A Waste Of Gas, Money, Time & My Appetite. 2/10 👎
Listen, I haven't been to a place more disappointing recently than Ziggy's. My family & I took a 45 min trip here after seeing them on social media. While the food may sound / look appealing everything pretty much sucked.
The steak tasted like soggy stew meat straight out of a crock pot. It was kinda tough & had a very undesirable taste. It was a terrible quality & they should really change or shutdown. Not flavorful whatsoever it was very blah.
The Philly sandwich tasted like they poured brown gravy over the meat and felt like something out of a school cafeteria & it was just messy. The so called "Cheese Sauce" didn't even taste of cheese it was pathetic. Then I tired the Boom Boom Sandwich & the only reason this one was slightly better was because of the special sauce & the fact that this one had American cheese which helped give a slight flavor.
They don't even grill or toast the bread & it's a terrible dense bread that doesn't pair well at all. We didn't even want to finish the sandwiches that's how bad they were.
1 staff member was nice all the others looked miserable & didn't feel welcoming at all.
It's sad because people hype up this place & it appears to look like a good spot, but trust me don't believe the hype. I could've saved $50 & gone to D'Angelos for a much better sandwich.
On the bright side I tired them so you don't have to...your welcome! Don't fall for the click bait Instagram posts.
What's your favorite place for a good steak & cheese? Are they're any good places worth trying in Worcester...
Read moreIt breaks my heart leaving a 2 star review but what in the what was that !. Stopped by here wanting to give it a shot ordered the Philly sandwich and I'm sorry worst Philly steak sandwich I ever had in my life. Although I am a native new Yorker I've had it both in Philly and New York (deli) I was hoping it was somewhere in between but it's not it at all ! To give them credit the only appealing thing about my experience was the restaurant but that's all I can genuinely say I really wish I could say more. 1. It's a cash only store the issue is you have one of those card readers and you have a sign that says credit card reader machine is broken I spoke to someone who is a regular and the individual told me it's always been like that. Staff not the worst but isn't the best either the guy who took my order and served me stared at me while I was waiting like a scary face like the heck I'm from out of town give me a break. Now back to the Philly sandwich Beware if you get the sandwich prepare to eat one of the saltiest food you'll ever had no joke !. Saltiness score 4.5/5. I tasted the mayo and cheese whiz I wish there was more the cheese whiz is only coated on the sides there is very little and non mixed into the meat unlike in Philly and NYC(deli) and for $14 I similar to the one I had in NYC for that $14 price tag they have the mayo and cheese whiz mixed in well. I gave them a 2 star review because to me as a foodie myself it wasn't the worst thing I ate and for what it's worth it's the experience that I'll...
