I normally do not write reviews but mine and my husband experience at the Crestwood IL restaurant isn't sitting well with me. My husband and I both are customer service managers. My husband is a manager at very well known bbq restaurant and myself a finance company. We were returning from a family spring break trip in Wisconsin Dell and decided to stop at this restaurant for lunch and to use the restroom. We don't have a Chick fil close to our home so whenever we are in Crestwood, Homewood, or Orland area we stop at one. My sister, husband and myself walked into the restaurant and went up to the counter to order. Because my husband had to us the restroom worse than we did ,he went first and let us order. After we ordered we proceeded to the restroom and my husband was exiting. He we approached by a male who we later found out was the owner as my husband was exiting the restroom. He had to been watching my husband walk to the restroom the entire time but did not pay attention that my husband walked into the restaurant with us. He ask my husband can he help him with something as if my husband was a thug hanging around the restaurant asking people for money. My husband told the owner my wife order food. The owner said what is the name. My husband gave the last name because he didn't know what name I put it the order under. The owner ask the lady at the counter and she said we don't have anorder under ** now the owner really think my husband is the stereotype black man. I guess black men with a $200 nike suit and $400 Jordan gym shoes are thugs. Just to put it out there, my husband is 50 years old but can pass for 35 easy and is a college graduate. So now the owner is sitting at an table next to the counter watching my husband while my husband is waiting on me. I finally come out of the restroom and walk up and my husband has this distress look on his face and said to me, what did you order because this man walked up on me as if I am not supposed to be here. My husband said it so quickly that I responded back fast by just reading off my order. I finally slowed down my brain and asked him to repeat what he said. So when he said it again, I asked for a refund. My sister walked up and ask what was going on and she proceeded to ask for a refund also. The lady at the counter was very nice the entire time as if she know this owner is racist. The owner become mad at this point and jump up out the seat he was stalking my husband from and started to because confrontational with my husband. At this point a lady who was sitting by the owner got up. We found out later she's the manager . She tried to do damage control but the damage was done. My husband was already embarrassed. All of our feelings were hurt. And it is just a wake-up call that no matter were you spend your money, some people will never...
Read moreI waited in the drive through for nearly 15 minutes. After receiving my drinks ( a shake and a bottle of water) I watched the employees bring food to customers cars behind me. After my son who is disabled ( and is afraid to wear a mask, which is why I went through the drive thru) became frustrated seeing everyone besides him receive food i called the store twice and didn’t get an answer. After that I left the drive thru and pulled into the parking lot so I could go inside to see why my order was taking so long. When I came inside I voiced my grievances the manager told me that I was lying that someone tried to give me my food but I left ( duh, I left after waiting a ridiculous amount of time in a drive thru) it literally took two minutes for me to leave the drive through parking spot to get to the main parking lot and walk into the store, anyway she was really dismissive waives me off and told me “ have a nice day” in a very condescending tone. She then began speaking Spanish to other employees in the store. The only reason I chose to keep the food was because my son was hungry and frustrated. We sat in the car during a heat wave and had my car for nearly 15 minutes ( gas is $6 a gallon by the way). We never received an apology from the manager or the store owner. I did call corporate and they apologized and offered me free drink and cookie, lol. It’s not the first time I’ve felt discriminated against but I’ve never felt that way at a Chick Fila. Needless to say I won’t be returning to that location. The female manager was terrible, the service was awful. The owner/ operator showed just how much she cared about customers. I have screenshots of the time I received my beverages, the time I called the restaurant, and the time I called corporate in case they try to lie. What I experienced thst day was unacceptable. The worst part eas having to take my child inside without a mask and potentially expose him...
Read moreJenny the Operations Manager needs customer service training. For the last 8 months I have visited Chick-fil-A at least 3 times per week always ordering the sweet tea with no ice. I am borderline diabetic, so I must watch my sugar intake. I have tried the other drinks, but unfortunately, they are too sweet for me. The sweet tea is a perfect mix.
I was told while by the service representative that took my order in the drive thur that the Strawberry Lemonade was not that sweet. I asked Jenny if I could have a sample of the Strawberry Lemonade, that I did not want to order if it was too sweet.
She said that we do not give out samples. She said that we can mix it with water, or if you do not like we can give you another drink.
Her response was a great way of letting me know that she did not value me as a customer. Most restaurants are not in the business of giving out samples. You do it as a way of saying thank you to the customer for choosing to do business with your establishment.
Jenny had a smirk on her face, as she thought the exchange was hilarious. I returned the food that I ordered and left.
I have never been a fan of Chick-fil-A, but my son loves it. So, one day while picking up my son’s order about 8 months ago, I noticed that Chick-fil-A sold sweet tea. I asked the gentleman working drive thur about the sweet tea. He stated, you can have a sample if you like. That sample got me hooked.
Someone needs to let Jenny know that samples are a great way to...
