I'm home sick and was really looking forward to having a good dinner. Since l'm contagious and feel like complete hell, the Rapid Red Curbside was perfect. It's 25 degrees out and I think I mentioned I'M SICK so I bundle up, throw my coat on over my pajamas and arrive at the time I was instructed. After waiting for over 10 minutes, I call to see if they have forgotten about me. I’m put on hold for several minutes before being told it's not ready. I'M SICK and don't want to keep sitting in a parking lot so l ask if I can cancel the order and get a refund. Person tells me she has to speak with a manager and this time l'm on hold for 7 minutes before I hang up and call back. Now I'm told by the person on the phone that she thought her manager already picked up and talked to me. I told her no and said I just wanted to know if I could leave - was I being refunded. She said she couldn't tell me that and that I HAD to speak with the manager. After spending almost another 5 minutes on hold, the manager, Evelyn, gets on the phone and says, "oh, that was cancelled. I thought that was what you wanted." UNREAL!
So they canceled the order but left me on hold, sitting in the parking lot, knowing I’m sick, feel horrible and just want to get back in my bed but they also know I’m unable to leave because they’re requiring me to talk to the manager first. I can’t imagine being so uncaring. Leaving me to sit in a parking lot, sick, with a fever in 25 degree January weather and just f’ing ignoring me is awful. This was a miserable experience. Absolutely miserable. I had no energy left to figure out another plan for dinner because I’M SICK so I grabbed a loaf of bread from the kitchen and decided to post on every neighborhood page I can think of while I lay here hungry tonight. If I save one person from a terrible experience, good, but I hope I save many, many more.
After having a little time to reflect on this, I think I’m most surprised that there was no offer to try and make it right. Not one thing! They could have offered a discount, they could have offered to have it delivered after I spent so much time in their lot dealing with this. They could have offered a gift card. Hell, they could have been insulting & just offered a free dessert but even that was too hard for them. It’s really shocking how horrible they...
Read moreTo begin with, this is a review of a takeout experience. Dining in might be better! Decided to order Red Lobster tonight to get the endless shrimp deal. Obviously being take out it is not endless but you do get a good quantity of food. I used the Red Lobster app and found it user friendly and easy to use. Applied a reward and got a $10 appetizer for free! Free is for me! Placed my order successfully and was given an estimated time of 6 pm. I consider it an estimate even though it does say "order ready at 6pm."
I drove to the restaurant arriving about 6:05. Both (yes only 2) take out spots were both occupied. In pre-covid days 2 were likely sufficient but it would've been nice to see a little more recognition to an increased volume of takeout orders. I pulled up behind another car parked curbside and called the restaurant to check in. I should note that a link in the email receipt that is supposed to give you check in instructions does not. Granted not this particular restaurant's fault but not helpful none the less.. I was immediately put on hold for a period of 6 minutes on my first call. I hung up and called again and once again was immediately put on hold. Not thrilled at this point. I found a parking spot and decided to go in to get my order. At this put it was between 6:15 and 6:20.
I walked in and told the hostess I was here for a pick up order and was told to go to the take out counter. She was not assisting anyone else at the time. How busy was it that I was on hold twice? I waited at the takeout counter for someone to help me and was finally assisted by the woman working behind the bar. She talked to the woman doing takeout and was told "it just needs bread". Ok great, should have my food right away! Nope. Ten more minutes go by before I finally got my food. It was now 6:30. Going back to the pickup time. Again I understand 6pm is an estimate. But to not have the food ready until 6:30 is a bit excessive.
To say the least I was less than impressed by their takeout service. It seems poorly organized and seemingly understaffed. The food was good for the most part. I was a bit disappointed by my clam chowder which seemed to be 95% cream and little of anything else. While I did enjoy the meal I did not enjoy the to go experience. I will definitely think twice before using Red...
Read moreOn Sunday February 5 my husband and I went for dinner. We were told it was a 25 minute wait. We sat by the doors and after 45 minutes my husband went up to the hostess and ask her how much longer. The hostess “Sunay” got an attitude with my husband because she said she called us and we didn’t answer. Then she finds a table grabs the utensils & menus and proceeds to walk without saying a word to us. The other hostess that was there was the one to tell us to follow Sunay. When she arrived at the table she slammed the utensils & menus on the table and walked away without saying anything to us. We sat down in shock that we were treated that way. My husband went back to her at the hostess desk and asked her to get the manager. He was waiting at the desk for the manager for a good while until my husband told her to send the manager to the table. Then Sunay asked my husband “was it something I said? My husband responded “that’s the problem you didn’t say anything to us and walked away. She responded WHATEVER!”under her breath & waiving a menu. She knew then we were going to complain about her and she comes back later to bring us biscuits and says “your waitress should be coming shortly”. FYI hostess don’t bring the biscuits to the table, the waitress do! Then I saw her approach our waitress and takes her behind the wall of the bar to inform her about us. Finally the manager comes after a 20 minute wait and apologized to us and offers us a free appetizer! We told her “we didn’t do this for free food, we are disgusted at the way we were treated after being a frequent customer at this specific location for years. We did not stay and won’t be going there anymore! We went to the Mexican restaurant next door which was the best decision we made that day. We had a very pleasant experience with staff and had a...
