I'd give this place 10 stars if I could!

I'm visiting York from San Francisco, CA and spent the previous night looking on Google and Reddit for "must try PA food". This wasn't on the list, but it had such high reviews I had to try it.

Walked in on a busy Saturday dinner service without a reservation. They were completely slammed and understaffed, but were adamant they could squeeze us in.

We were seated immediately. We ordered a special which came with the crab puri, roasted brussel sprouts, and a samosa--all were DELICIOUS. For entree we had the lamb Tikka masala. 3/5 spicy was a good kick!

Kari was our awesome server. We never felt rushed to order or eat, and considering how busy the restaurant was--and being 3 staff members short--she still gave us the phenomenal dining experience you'd get at a fine dining restaurant. All of her suggestions were perfect and we felt so welcomed.

We sat further back in the restaurant, and although most diners would probably complain about sitting near the kitchen, we had an awesome time seeing the chefs work their magic through the window. We were so in awe--they were FAST and not one bead of sweat was showing. The art and flow in there couldn't go unnoticed.

As we were wrapping up, the main chef peeked through the window and asked how we were doing, and apologized for the wait (which we didn't notice at all -- everything was very timely). It was Hamir himself and it was the icing on the cake for us. Super handsome fellow smiling the whole time in a nice dress shirt with not a stain on it. So impressive. Earlier in the night we also saw him step out of the kitchen to take a photo with a group of diners. He didn't look stressed at all, just so happy to offer his talent for others to enjoy.

I've been to my share of Michelin-rated restaurants, but this whole experience -- from authenticity of the Indian food, creativity of the fusions, and the top notch service from the ENTIRE staff -- has exceeded 95% of what I've felt in those in bigger foodie cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco.

Thank you, Hamir, Kari, Chelsea, your sous chef and amazing staff for being such an unexpected highlight to the trip!!! Can't wait to come back before I have to return to the west coast--this time with more family...

If you haven't had Indian food in a long while, I highly recommend. The people make the place. They're very helpful.

It was the first time I've had Indian food in maybe 30 years. This is not because I don't like it, but rather I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what dishes I might like, don't know what to eat it with. I'm just a local clueless resident. Our server was so kind, empathetic, and, this was a weird one, seemed genuinely invested in us enjoying ourselves. Can't say I ever wrote than in a restaurant review before, and I've wrote a couple.

My highlight was to meet the owner/manager who greeted us at the table after our order was in and stopped by again after the food was on the table to get our feedback.

Now, I've been to the fanciest and divey-est of places on the east coast. And this place had all the wonderfulness that you find in the people at the dives (when it's slow anyway lol), and all pleasantness, propriety and high standards of a fancy spot. The presentation was amazing in my opinion.

My takeaway was that the owner is a very genteel man and I really enjoyed meeting such a nice guy grinding out his living. My wife says he's very well known across the county for his involvement in the community. I never heard myself, so I could tell ya. But, he was one of the warmest restauranteurs I've met. Much higher quality experience than what you expect to get in York County on the whole (if you know what I mean 👀 )

Hey. And I just finished the leftovers uhh nine? days later. Obviously I didn't do the math on that before I ate it. But it was still amazing! I just have been nibbling on them here and there because its all about the flavor. Gotta savor that flavor when you can find it. We'll see you again Hamir's...

This restaurant is the perfect combination of authentic Indian food and a modern fine dining experience. The menu is pricier than other Indian restaurants I've been to, but this is adequately reflected in the quality of the dining experience. The service was attentive and welcoming and the food was presented beautifully. The chef (and likely the owner) came out to greet each table throughout the evening to ensure the meal was to our liking, which I found to be a lovely and heartfelt gesture. The aesthetic presentation of each food item, from our appetizers, to our drinks and desserts, was so thoughtfully and pleasantly curated.

A colleague we met for dinner had never tried Indian food before, so she ordered the Thali entree, which includes a variety of sampling options, as shown in the photos. We found this unique menu item to be a wonderful introduction to the vast range of enjoyable Indian dishes. I highly recommend giving this a try to those who are either new to Indian food or those who are feeling indecisive when choosing an entree.

One last note: We hadn't realized that the restaurant closed at 9 pm on a Friday night, so we were the last table in the restaurant, which I often adamantly and intentionally avoid. However, the desserts still came out picture-perfect (just after 9 pm). The chef/owner came out, once again, to ask us to please take our time and enjoy them. This type of genuine connection between the one masterfully crafting a dining experience and those who are fortunate enough to enjoy it is something that is not found often and did not go unnoticed.

We are very much looking forward to our next night out at Hamir's Indian Fusion. Well done to this...

The Best Restaurant in York! Hamir’s stands alone. This restaurant consistently serves some of the best food I’ve ever enjoyed. I often eat the Chole Masala here (pictured) The service is cheerful, knowledgeable, and friendly, and the food is ready in a very reasonable amount of time. Mr. Hamir himself almost always comes out to the table to check on everyone’s food to make sure it is just how everyone likes it! Few restaurants really give as much careful attention to the atmosphere as Hamir’s. The environment always feels warm, cozy, and private with just a touch of adventurous flair—you would never know you were in the middle of York, PA. A note about spiciness: Hamir’s offers a choice of 1 to 5 for spiciness level… I (and others!) have found that Hamir’s tends to err on the side of caution. I would personally recommend ordering one or two numbers above the spiciness you think you would like. I love spicy food, and have gotten in the habit of telling them to make my food 6 out of 5 spiciness level. They do honor this request, and I can attest that 6/5 is noticeably spicier than 5/5, so feel free to order that if you are like me. But don’t worry if you want your food totally mild—just order 1/5, and you will be perfectly happy with no spiciness that way! I order gluten free (you see the gluten free variety in my picture), and I am delighted that they have this option!! This restaurant actually gives you an experience, and it is so reasonably priced. If you try one restaurant in York, make it Hamir’s!

I have been hearing about this restaurant for about a year now and we finally got the chance to go. Let me start by saying the last time I had really good Indian food I was in Germany about 8 years ago, until today. The moment we walked in we knew we were in for a fantastic meal, the staff professional, warm and welcoming. You can smell the fragrance of fresh herds and spices that are so distinct with Indian cuisine. Being a former soue-chef we had a really great feeling about this place, positive vibes were in the air definitely. First off the cocktails were fantastic I highly recommend the ginger infused "old fashion", we ordered "samosas" appetizer I had this once in Seattle and wasn't impressed, Hamir's rendition knocked it out the park! definitely a "must have", for my meal I had to go "traditional" and had the lamb curry, everything about Indian food that I fell in love with year's ago was completely restored with the first bite. With a table full of "foodies" silence is an indication of "instant approval", I'm not a real dessert person but we ordered Gulab Jamun w/ice cream that was a blurry memory, we inhaled it in minutes you can't leave this place without trying it. Sorry for the long read, but my recommendation goes as follows, if you are ever in great state of Pennsylvania it would be in your best interest to visit this fine culinary establishment I personally guarantee that you will be completely satisfied and grateful you did.
