I anticipated an excellent dinner date with my wife. It turned out to be a nightmare. We arrived a little after 7 p.m. yesterday. I ordered two appetizers, and they arrived with no issue. Note: Their Caprese is underwhelming for the price. It is half a tomato, cut in half with two pieces of mozzarella. It was not your typical caprese you would get in Italy or anywhere else that serves it. Even the waitress stated it is the most overpriced item on their menu. We then ordered our entrees. I ordered lasagna, and my wife ordered their diablo chicken. We ordered these as the appetizers were being prepared. At this point, I think we entered the Twilight Zone or something.
At 810 p.m., after not seeing our waitress for 30 min, I asked another waitress about our orders. She knew the status for some reason. The cook thought our order was "to go," and it was in boxes for whoever knows how long, my guess 20-30 min.
Ten min after this, our food appeared from our missing waitress. I ask her to please get the manager. She asked if she could help, and I said no, I needed to talk with the mgr.
The mgr is chilling at the bar with employees. As we wait, my wife takes one bite of her food, and we realize her order is entirely wrong. They served her shrimp penne. She is not a fan of shrimp at all. We continue to wait for the mgr to appear. He finally does, and we tell him what we know. He knew nothing about it and said the waitress should have checked on our meals.
We had another errand in Yukon before a store closed and didn't plan to be at Primo's for 1.5 hours. The mgr asked if they could make the diablo chicken quickly for my wife, and she said no thanks. I took my dinner to go. They offered us dessert and brought out one piece of cheesecake. That took 10 min. Of course, they didn't charge us for the extended stay at Primo's.
I don't plan to go back to Primo's. Unfortunately, I know one of the owners, who are nice. It is a shame that complacency is prevalent in this...
Read moreVisited Primo's for my birthday in October. Primo's is sort of tucked away in a strip mall in Yukon (the same one where Sprouts is located) and truth be told, I honestly didn't expect much. So happy to say I was wrong!
Right off the bat, the restaurant is much larger than it appears from the outside, which was a pleasant surprise. Also, when you open the door, you're greeted with such lovely Italian scents and smells, I was hungry immediately.
Even though it was a Sat night, and the restaurant appeared full, we were seated pretty quickly in a nice booth, and brought the traditional fresh bread roll with balsamic and italian spiced olive oil.
Our waitress, Cassidy, was attentive and easy to talk to. She gave good advice on the specials and what was going very well that night. Prices are moderate to a little more expensive (some of their extensive menu is pictured). We started with the Spinach Dip and breadsticks, which was okay, but my heart was already set on my entree!!
I had the Eggplant Piccatta w/angel hair side (pictured), and hubby had the Cajun Chicken Alfredo. Both dishes were EXCELLENT, with generous portions...enough to take home.
Honestly, one of the things I noticed was the excellent service the wait staff provided to those around us during our dinner. In fact, our poor waitress, Cassidy, had burned her hand while waiting on us...yet we never experienced any lag time or reduction in service; others jumped right in to take care of us and we never knew there had been a problem. I was very impressed with the service and commended the staff.
When our meal was finished, we were offered complimentary tea drinks for the ride home. I cannot stress how GREAT our dining experience was at Primo's, and I can't wait to...
Read moreLet me tell you about Primo's this is the best Italian food I have ever eaten in Southwest Oklahoma! The food is a delight to the taste buds, the rich creamy sauces or the bold savory marinara sauces any of these on the many pasta dishes they cook fresh to order! The blend of fresh herbs and spices with the melody of fresh produce such as ripe tomatoes, and green onions are just a couple to mention in their dishes. Such as the Pollo Sinatra a beautifully delicious penne pasta dish with mushrooms, green onions, tossed in a marsala cream sauce topped with parmesan crusted chicken and fresh basil. They offer a large variety of all the classics of pasta dishes, lamb, beef, seafood, soups & salads, appetizers, tuscan flat breads, healthy options are available as well, standards, house favorites as well as offering a children's menu and let's not forget everyone's favorite dessert. Their desserts are all made in house and are heavenly! The Tiramisu is lady fingers soaked in espresso & Coffee Liquer layered with mascarpone. The Amore Sundae is another delicious sweet treat that will have you delighted in every spoonful of ice cream, topped with hot fudge, toasted coconut, strawberries and whipped cream. This dessert is not only delicious but a beautiful work of art. Every time I have dined at Primo's has been a wonderful, delicious artful experience to my senses. This is now my new favorite Italian restaurant and I will keep coming back with...
