Dilema Café & Restobar — Restaurant in Montevideo

We had a great day at Dilema Cafe and Restro Bar! The atmosphere was lovely and comfortable. Since we just needed two seats, we were seated swiftly despite the lengthy line, which is indicative of the restaurant's popularity.

The provolone cheese with asparagus and pears was our first course, and it was a great combo! We ate cavatelli with blue cheese and leek cream and chili cabbage for the main course, which was barbecued chicken with barbecued vegetables. Each dish had a plenty of taste.

Their selection of mocktails and cocktails is outstanding. Each of the dishes we sampled—El Gaucho, Pina Enrique Rodo, and Sabquina—was excellent. All in all, a fantastic experience. Strongly suggested, and we will most certainly return!

Update 1: We celebrated our anniversary with a delightful dinner at Dilema Cafe. The ambiance was perfect for the occasion, and we enjoyed every moment of our meal. We started with Risoto de Remolacha and Gyozas, both of which were delicious. For the night, they offered a sushi menu, and we opted for the Nike Roll and Noquis de Papa con Cherry's Confitados. Ayer fuimos a cenar por vez primera a Dilema. Nunca habíamos ido, hasta ayer. El local es una casa de años, que fue remodelada y cada rincón hay un detalle que le muestra al visitante la personalidad del lugar. Cuando llegamos, había gente en la entrada, entonces nos pusimos atrás de ellos, pero simplemente estaban ahí parados, y quien era el encargado de las mesas demoró unos minutos en vernos y darnos mesa. Fuimos de noche, entonces había poca luz y música electrónica alta. Mi consejo, si pasas los 30, y quieres cenar tranquilamente y charlar. No es para ti este lugar. De noche es para tomar un trago, comer algo y disfrutar de la música. Es más para gente joven, o con que le agrade lo que describí antes. ¡Que me alegra!, que gata un lugar así para los jóvenes, porque no hay mucha oferta de restaurantes con esa temática. Sí, en un momento tuve que prender la linterna de mi celular por que no veía el menú. Pero fue parte de la experiencia, la cual a ni acompañante y a mi nos fue grata. Pedimos de entrada 8 piezas de sushi, que estaba muy bueno. Para tomar un Daikiri Hermingway (te dan una libreta, donde hay muchos tragos conocidos, y otros de autor, del lugar). Luego para el plato principal degustamos Tataki de atún y una ensalada de langostinos con hojas verdes, naranja y frutilla. Me pareció muy interesante la propuesta gastronómica. De postre degustamos una cumbre de manzana y peras con una bocha de helado de crema, y una porción de tarta Cabsha, con una bocha de helado de limón. Esta última nunca habíamos probado, y estaba muy rica. Lo dulce lo acompañamos con un té de Sinfonia, muy delicioso.

En decoración y temática del lugar, son claramente un 10. Los meseros bien, estaban distraídos, pero nada grave. Baños pulcros, bien. Un menú interesante, con ofertas gastronómicas variadas.

Quizás volvería al mediodía, o a la tarde para poder disfrutar más a mi gusto. Pero es una buena opción para salir, en pareja, con amigos. Y disfrutar de un trago, y pasar un rato...

The restaurant has an Okay food, as a vegetarian I had few options, but the salad was good. The service was excellent, nice waiters, fine communication. I got a flu. The heating and the higiene is not adequate, was a little opened space super dry, the heating was literally warming my head and everyone’s. Besides of all dry atmosphere people were smoking and it dissipated even more. I was there yesterday and feel horrible there, I am still today, also my friends had flu and/or allergies symptoms.
