Palm Beach Hotel — Hotel in Montevideo

The employee at check-in was very unfriendly. Since the card reader was broken, he asked us to pay in cash at check-in. However, he was reluctant to provide a receipt for this payment. He tried to persuade us to just give him the money and he would give us the receipt the next day. Very dubious!! The next morning another disappointment at breakfast. Breakfast was only available until 10am (even though it was a Sunday). We asked reception at 9:40 if we still had time for breakfast and this was confirmed. So we arrived at 9:45. The scrambled eggs were empty, so we kindly asked if the employee could make us some scrambled eggs or perhaps boiled eggs at breakfast. The woman then freaked out, started screaming and trying to lecture us in front of the other breakfast guests, called the reception and continued to scream and complain about us. In her opinion, we would be too late and therefore unlucky if there were no eggs left. After a clarifying conversation with the receptionist, we were assured that the buffet would have everything to offer until 10 a.m. and that nothing new should be opened after 10 a.m. In the end we left and ate breakfast at a very nice restaurant nearby. The way the employee behaved at breakfast was inappropriate and unpleasant for us and all the other breakfast guests who had to listen to her screaming - this woman is simply embarrassing for this hotel and has done a lot of damage to the image. We won't be coming back! There are many other hotels that are just as priced and just as centrally located where the service is also commensurate with the...

Palm Beach Plaza is a modern, very comfortable hotell that is located in the best possible location (for those who want access to the beach) in Montevideo. Situated just off the main street adjacent to the Pocitas Rambla, behind a very nice little neighborhood park, you have the Palm Beach Plaza. Close to restaurants, buses that take you anywhere in the city, shops, and of course the excellent Rambla, this hotel offers everything you would want, including extremely helpful staff who can tell you anything about this city- extremely helpful were Diego on the night shift, who becaue the smiling and friendly face of this city, and Alejandro and Sebastian on the day shift. Between them, we were fully educted and assisted in this wonderful city. Additionally, the breakfast is excellent. Fabiana, who runs breakfast, bakes fresh cookies and pastries! The cleaning staff are always smiling and welcoming you both to the hotel and to the day. The rooms are spacious, and the beds extremely comfortable. This hotel and the staff really had an extremely positive impact on our trip...
