If you are looking for a place to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee in a cozy and authentic setting, look no further than Cong Caphe. This cafe is located in a charming old building right across the street from the St. Joseph's Cathedral, and offers a variety of drinks and minimal snacks that should satisfy your taste buds and your soul.

One of the most popular drinks at Cong Caphe is the iced coconut coffee a refreshing blend of strong coffee and creamy coconut milk. The iced mung bean coffee is another specialty that you should not miss as it combines the nutty flavor of mung beans with the rich aroma of coffee. Both drinks are served in generous portions and are perfect for cooling down on a hot humid day.

The interior of Cong Caphe is decorated with vintage furniture and memorabilia, creating a rustic and nostalgic atmosphere. You can sit on the wooden stools or the cushioned chairs, and admire the rustic interior and the perfect view of St. Joseph's Cathedral. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing, and you will feel like you have stepped back in time and into a different world.

The service at Cong Caphe is however not the best. The staff seem preoccupied and non-responsive to customers and you may have to wait a while to get your order or pay your bill. This can be frustrating and disappointing, especially if you are in a hurry or expect a friendly and attentive service.

Cong Caphe is a great place to enjoy the best of Vietnamese coffee culture, and immerse yourself in the history and heritage of Hanoi. But be prepared to be patient and understanding with the service as it may not meet your expectations. If you can overlook this flaw, you will have a memorable and enjoyable time at this...

Cong Caphe, Vietnam Cong Caphe is a highly popular Vietnamese coffee chain renowned for its unique "Communist Chic" or "War-era" themed decor and its signature Coconut Coffee.

Signature Drinks and Menu: While Cong Caphe offers a wide range of coffee concoctions, teas, juices, and even some light food items like Bánh Mì and snacks, their Coconut Coffee is the undisputed star and a must-try. This refreshing drink combines the boldness of Vietnamese coffee with the creamy sweetness of coconut milk, often blended with ice to create a delightful slushie-like consistency. Other popular coconut-based drinks include Coconut Cocoa, Coconut Mung Bean, and Coconut Green Rice smoothies. Beyond the coconut series, the menu includes various Vietnamese coffee styles such as: Cà Phê Sữa Đá (Iced Milk Coffee) Cà Phê Đen Nóng (Hot Black Coffee) Cà Phê Sữa Chua (Coffee with Yogurt) Vina-Cano (Vietnamese Americano) and Vina-Latte They also offer a selection of snacks like spring rolls, croissants with condensed milk, and bánh mì with condensed milk.

Pricing: Cong Caphe is generally considered to be on par with Western-style coffee shops in terms of pricing, being slightly more expensive than traditional Vietnamese street coffee, but still offering good value for the quality and experience. Overall Experience: Cong Caphe provides more than just a coffee; it offers a unique cultural experience. The distinctive decor, the authentic Vietnamese coffee (especially the famous Coconut Coffee), and the lively atmosphere make it a memorable stop for anyone visiting Vietnam. It's a place where history meets modern cafe culture, perfect for relaxing, people-watching, and enjoying a truly...

Disrespectful service and disorganized environment. Avoid this branch at all costs.

The service from the girl with glasses was absolutely unacceptable. From the very beginning she looked irritated, acted like she didn’t want to be there, and kept asking me the same question repeatedly as if she wasn’t even listening. When it came time to pay, she literally snatched the money out of my hand.

The bill was 59,000 VND. I handed her 100,000, and without a word she just gave me 40,000 back, essentially keeping the extra 1,000 for the cafe. I’m not upset about one single thousand dong, but basic courtesy is to ask the customer if that’s alright. When I requested the correct change, she didn’t say a word. She just shoved the money back into my hand with an attitude that was both rude and unprofessional.

It’s disgraceful that with so many Cong Caphe locations nearby, this branch chooses to treat customers with such disrespect. On top of that, the shop itself is unbearably crowded, making it impossible to enjoy either the coffee or any kind of atmosphere. The entrance is narrow, the flow of customers is chaotic, and the service feels completely disorganized. Do yourself a favor and choose literally...

Rate it at 3.5. Ordered cumquat passionfruit drink and it's fantastic, so refreshing. But the paper straws served are not big enough to suck up the white pearls with. Spicy corn snack is a nice add on to enjoy. Location is bomb! Right across from st Joseph's, you can people watch the intersection area. Across 3 levels, including indoor and outdoor terrace seating. Table service or takeaway. It gets real busy at times. I prefer the 2nd level, has a ceiling fan inside and some shade on the terrace. Guy that took our order was efficient and friendly but afterwards service was not great from the cashier lady, I repeatedly asked for takeaway cups, waited ages to pay, reminded re takeaway cups and was told by the cashier girl "yes, yes, i remember". Well she either didn't know what I was saying or she didn't pass it on because suprise suprise, no takeaway cups. Served in a glass instead. Also took 30minutes to get our drinks and I saw others that had ordered after us, get theirs. There's a quieter congs nearby across from the lake if you want a chill setting, if you want the view and chaotic scenery of St.Josephs, go here.
