After a lapse of several years, I had the distinct pleasure of returning to Mediterraneo Restaurant in Hanoi, where I was reunited with long-time friends for a memorable evening of fine dining. It was a reunion of sorts, not only with my companions but also with the familiar allure of the restaurant's unwavering commitment to quality.
From the moment we entered, it was immediately apparent that Mediterraneo has managed to maintain the exceptional standards that have made it a stalwart of the city's culinary scene. The ambience exudes an understated elegance, an inviting blend of warmth and sophistication that transports one to the Mediterranean coast, setting the stage for what would be an unforgettable meal.
The quality of the food remains nothing short of exemplary. Each dish presented was a testament to both the skill and passion of the chefs. The flavours were harmonious, vibrant, and impeccably balanced, making every bite a delightful exploration of Mediterranean gastronomy. It is no surprise that my two companions, regular patrons of the restaurant, could count on their favourite dishes to consistently impress. Their weekly visits speak volumes about the establishment's reliability and excellence.
What truly sets Mediterraneo apart, however, is its service. The staff displayed remarkable attentiveness throughout our dinner. From recommending wine pairings to ensuring our comfort without ever being intrusive, the service was both professional and personable. It is a rarity to encounter such seamless hospitality, which undoubtedly contributed to our overall satisfaction.
As the evening drew to a close, all three of us left with contented smiles, knowing that Mediterraneo continues to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Whether one is a long-time regular or a first-time guest, the restaurant’s unwavering dedication to culinary excellence and refined service ensures that it remains an integral part of Hanoi’s...
Read moreI came for dinner tonight, was looking for Italian food and found this place, just by looking at the menu I feel this is a great choice.
Arrived at 7pm when there was only 1 table on ground floor, love the cozy feel of this resto already. Then one foreigner guy came with the menu, friendly. Took my time to skim whole menu (so many dishes and drinks/wine to choose) and came the super friendly and helpful staff ( the middle age looking one) So I ordered carpaccio & a homemade pasta with porcini mushroom. And a glass of house red wine.
The carpaccio was so good, I had quite a lot of carpaccio even in Europe but this one has such a nice balance taste of the beef, the sauce and the parmesan. Homemade pasta with porcini was good too, al dente thick cut pasta with creamy porcini sauce ( would be better if there’s a bit more of mushroom ), sipping red wine while eating this is a homey cozy space while it was drizzling outside. Perfect Friday night. But then there comes a young female staff that while I was chewing on my carpaccio she left the pasta on table, didn’t even bother to ask or check if I finish the dish or not. And I wasn’t upset until I finished pasta and asked for dessert menu, she started at me with a smirk and ask “dessert menu?” Make me wonder if she wants to be working tonight.. Buttt I wasn’t really upset till I paid and said thank you to her and she didn’t even look at me just face focus on the phone not sure it was hers or the resto. Shouldn’t be that rude to people no matter what.
Anyway, food was really good I enjoyed a lot, just hope next time I come back that staff has better mood at work so she wont ruin...
Read moreI have supped at this fair establishment more than fivefold times. The atmosphere be most agreeable and the chambers well adorned with pleasing finery. Yet, upon mine last visitation, the victuals were but middling, lacking the wondrous delight of yore. The price, alas, did soar ever higher, whilst the repast took an age to be brought forth. Verily, some dishes did suffice, yet such fare as the pasta was grievously tough, and the pie of dough was naught but mediocre fare. The beef steaks, by my troth, were the choicest of all—bathed in a most sumptuous mushroom sauce. I did relish the beef’s hearty chew and noble texture. Their fried tubers likewise were crisp and seasoned with artful hand. The sweetmeats at the close were indeed a fiery delight to mine palate. This recounting cometh from a year hence; I do fervently hope the tavern hath since bettered its craft. Continue thus, noble hosts!
(Whilst we did eat, a bulb upon the balcony burst aflame, smoked, and then exploded—most...
