A Serene Dining Experience with a Side of Disappointment at Green Inn
I had the pleasure of dining at Green Inn yesterday and the experience was quite a mixed bag. Upon entering, the ambiance immediately captured my attention. The environment was serene, with a calm, tranquil atmosphere that promised a relaxing dining experience. The staff were gentle and attentive, adding to the peaceful ambiance that surrounded us.
The menu was enticing and reasonably priced, showcasing a good balance between price and quality. I was particularly impressed with the taste of the dishes that were served; they were delightful and well-prepared. However, the dining experience took a sharp turn when it came to fulfilling our order.
We were quite taken aback to discover, halfway through receiving our order, that the restaurant had run out of rice for the curry. While the staff were apologetic, the alternative options presented were less than satisfactory. When I attempted to switch my order to a noodle dish, I was informed that pasta was available instead of noodles. Deciding to give it a try, I then opted for a dish with vermicelli, only to find out it was served cold, which was unexpected for a dinner meal.
It was disappointing to face such hurdles, especially when half of our party had received their meals while the rest of us were left figuring out alternatives. It became a lesson in ensuring to inquire thoroughly about the availability of ingredients before placing an order to avoid any surprises.
In summary, while Green Inn offers a peaceful dining atmosphere with tasty food at a good value, the lack of ingredient availability and the subsequent confusion significantly marred the dining experience. Future diners might want to confirm the availability of desired items to ensure a smoother...
Read moreAmazing amazing food! Would certainly come again. What a way to spend the last night in Vietnam 😍 When you walk in, the vibe is so much quieter than the loud noises outside. There's soft jazz music playing and the interior colours are wonderful in addition to their choice of furniture. We ended up staying upstairs where you have floor tables and cushions. We had the special crispy noodles, the green inn vegan purple sweet potato snack (it's a vegan prawn cracker, which in my eyes is the best of the two!) The entire meal was so beautiful! The pho was super aromatic and had the perfect amount of spice (which is subtle and tasteful!). The crispy noodles were outstanding too - lovely and crunchy. The portions were both perfectly sized too. The line juice however is not sweet enough, but still well made. The orange juice more than makes up for it! Finally, we had two portions of two-scoop ice creams. I had the salted caramel and the mango, which were a lovely combo. My wife had the salted caramel with the chocolate, which basically tastes like a chocolate bar that's been frozen onto your lips. The staff were super attentive and the service was incredibly fast too. We didn't expect that at all. All this ended up costing around 440k, which is a complete steal 😍 Thank you for the...
Read moreThis felt like more of a high-end restaurant compared to some places in Hanoi. It was calm, quiet and air conditioned and the decor was really cool. The staff spoke good English and were very welcoming.
We hadn't had pho yet in Vietnam so were keen to try it and I'm very glad we tried it here. The clear broth packed a lot of subtle flavour without being overly salty and the different types of mushrooms on top.
They didn't have the deep fried spring rolls available so we had fresh spring rolls, which I'm glad about in hindsight. They were fresh and chewy and the creamy coconuty dipping sauce was rich yet refreshing. We were also kindly offered the dipping sauce that came with the other spring rolls, but we both preferred the fresh spring roll sauce.
It's maybe a bit more expensive here than other places but the quality was really good and there are other things on the menu I'd really...
