Review for Hanoi Le Chateau Hotel & Spa: An Unforgettable Experience
My stay at Hanoi Le Chateau Hotel & Spa was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I stepped into the hotel, I was embraced by an atmosphere of elegance and warmth, making it a perfect sanctuary in the heart of Hanoi.
First, the staff deserve the highest praise. Tomas, the hotel manager, is truly an exceptional leader. His dedication to ensuring that every guest has a seamless experience was evident in every detail. He went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, showing great care and professionalism.
William, at the reception, was especially outstanding. Not only was he welcoming with a radiant smile and always ready to assist with any request, but he also saved the day when I accidentally left my bag, containing my passport, in a taxi. William went above and beyond, contacting the taxi driver and managing to get my bag returned to me. His quick thinking and dedication were a testament to the level of service this hotel offers, and I will forever be grateful for his help during what could have been a stressful situation.
Camille, a trainee, was incredibly attentive and showed a level of service well beyond her role. She brought an energy and eagerness that enhanced our experience, and it was clear that she is on a path to becoming a hospitality star.
Lala, the co-manager, worked alongside Tomas and contributed greatly to the overall excellence of the hotel’s management. Her attention to detail and warm demeanor ensured that every aspect of our stay was flawless. She greeted us with genuine warmth and made sure that all our needs were met with efficiency and care.
One of the highlights of our visit was the exquisite tea experience crafted by Ha Anh (Bob), the hotel’s talented bartender. His iced tea was nothing short of a masterpiece – refreshing, perfectly balanced, and truly the best I’ve ever had. Each sip felt like a refreshing escape after a day of exploring the bustling streets of Hanoi.
Additionally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the bellboys and the rest of the staff whose names I unfortunately can’t remember. Each one of them contributed to making our stay exceptional with their kind and attentive service, always ready to assist with a smile.
The hotel itself is a blend of luxury and comfort, offering spacious, beautifully decorated rooms and a spa that provides the perfect escape after a day of sightseeing. The location is ideal, nestled in a quiet area but close enough to enjoy the vibrant city life.
In conclusion, Hanoi Le Chateau Hotel & Spa is not just a hotel, it’s an experience. The staff, from Tomas and Lala to William, Camille, Ha Anh, the bellboys, and all the others behind the scenes, have created a space that feels like a home away from home. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough – if you are traveling to Hanoi, this is where you need to stay for an unforgettable, luxurious, and...
Read moreThis is the third stop of our family trip after Bangkok and Siem Reap. I chose this hotel based on recent new renovations and good review. However I do not believe it lives up to our expectations.
Pros: Location is conveniently located in Old Quarter and in close proximity to some tourist attractions including the train street. Staff are friendly at the front desk. The hotel manager Lana has made an additional effort to offer us some discounts for our stay as they cannot provide the second room we booked for the first night of our 3-night booking due to some unforeseen circumstances. Despite they coordinated a room elsewhere, that hotel is listed as a 3-star hotel. Glad that the issue is only for the first night.
Cons:
We arrived the hotel and checked in at 10:30pm due to the flight delay. Upon our arrival I walked in to the lobby to check in. Their staff assisted to take our luggage from the car to the hotel but left one luggage on the street. It is upon my partner’s checking to uncover the missing bag.
Room size not as advertised - I booked st Hotels.com and the description indicates the rooms I booked is 40 sq m. It is not. I used my iPhone to measure the rooms. Bedroom area 4m x 5m; washroom 2.15m x 1.87m; and entrance area 2.8m x 1.2m. Total 28 sq m.
Low level of service - my understanding of how the star rating of hotels depends greatly on the level of services and amenities that are available. I was under the weather with cold and flu on the first day so we wanted to stay in room and skip room cleaning. My partner went down to the front desk three (3) times to ask for new towels, box tissue paper and water. No response so we needed to continue to follow up. We spoke to the hotel manager Lana on our way out that afternoon and finally, we got the towels and water - and still no boxed tissue!
Towels and amenities in the room are very old - white towels not exactly white and they are very thin and showing all the signs of repeated watering. They provided one soup bar in the size of a 3cm diameter and 0.5cm thick. They have shampoo but no hair conditioner. No body lotion neither.
Hotel phone does not provide any info in the rooms on how to call the front desk or concierge; or if we need to make a local call.
Breakfast quality average and not as we expected to receive as compared to other 5-star hotels we stayed previously in other countries.
Our first impression of Hanoi is chaotic as the drivers like to honk all the time - does matter if it’s 6am or 11pm. I spoke to the hotel manager and she said this hotel is not located the busiest area otherwise the honking might start at 4am. In any event, our hotel stay experience does not help to create a memorable positive...
Read moreWe stayed at hotel chateau de hanoi for 2 nights and overall, it was an under-average experience. For its price (pre-discount and considering we were in Vietnam) it might not be that worth it.
We booked the hotel because of its high-rated reviews and its branding as a 5 star boutique hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks and the staff was friendly. We arrived hanoi quite early, so we asked if we could do an early check-in. We were informed by the staff that an early check-in was not impossible, but there was an extra charge. It was however totally understandable that the hotel has their arrangements so we went along with the regular check-in time, but the staff quite passive aggressively told us that they informed us on WhatsApp— we were on a flight and later on a Grab to the hotel so we were unable to read the message entirely. I would expect a 5-star service to be more understanding.
To be very honest, I would doubt if the hotel qualifies to be categorized into a 5-star hotel. Of course, the hotel provides customers with all the necessary amenities like toothbrush and shaving kits, but the hotel room didn’t have a window and lighting was insufficient. There was a bathtub, but there was no proper standing shower and it was just a shower head next to the toilet without curtains or doors. The twin bed was extremely small and too easy to be moved around (in a sense that if I wanted to sit at the edge of bed, the mattress would slide to that side).
Hygiene was fine but some areas such as the wall and the bathing area could be improved. We ran out of tissue paper in the room as well but after housekeeping the box was still empty and not replaced with a new box of tissue. Soundproofing at the hotel was not solid since we could constantly hear noises from next door during midnight.
In our booking package free breakfast was included, so we checked it out in the morning. A small buffet was provided, but the plates and utensils had oil on them. There was a set menu, but the scrambled eggs were not up to par and the pho was okay. Considering the hotel brands itself as a 5-star hotel, I would expect better hygiene and quality check.
Location-wise, the hotel is located at the heart of Old Quarter. It is convenient but this also means traffic can get very hectic nearby. Moreover we realized the staff was getting less and less friendly as we reached the end of our stay. It would be nice if their attitude and service could be more consistent, again, given it is a...
