Feedback for Nyna Coffee and Apartment Stay
I recently booked a 3-night stay at the apartment above Nyna Coffee. Upon arrival to Hà Nội , I was informed by the room manager that the apartment was not safe to occupy due to a recent power trip. I appreciate that an alternative accommodation was promptly arranged — it was comfortable and transport was provided to return to Nyna, which was a thoughtful gesture.
During my visit, I tried the salt coffee and fresh cream coffee, along with a slice of red velvet cake. The coffee was tasty, but the portion was quite small, especially since it was served with ice cubes. Considering the quantity, the price felt a little too high. The red velvet cake was decent in taste, but the bottom layer was too hard to scoop using a spoon. I’m curious if the cake is freshly made daily or stored in the fridge for extended periods.
While seated at the walkway leading to the Nyna apartment, I observed that the air-conditioning was turned off shortly after a security guard alerted staff about someone being present. Although the area remained comfortable with the fans, the sudden change felt a bit odd.
Staff Attitude: The staff at Nyna did not appear welcoming or helpful, which may be partly due to language barriers. However, a more friendly and interactive approach — even something as simple as a smile or a welcoming facial expression — would greatly enhance the experience for foreigners. Most of the tables were occupied by locals, and the difference in treatment between locals and foreigners was...
Read moreI had booked the apartment via booking.com and arrived at the place to find someone who didn’t allow card payment so we had to pay cash before going up to the apartment. When we got there, they gave us an apartment that was not what we booked online. As the apartment they gave us was $1,600k vnd less than the one we booked I asked for the refund of the difference in price. Then they tried to organise what we actually booked, when we visited the room it was old, tiles were broken on the floor and we liked the initial room better. They refused to refund and then stated they are both same price. The rooms are very noisy, can hear people walk above you. The TV is not functioning as advertised, bathroom door is broken so you can’t close or open it. When we raised these issues with the owner she ignored all messages that were relevant to the issues. I have contacted booking.com regarding the issue with money to learn that the owner had cancelled the booking online saying the payment was waved, to make it seem like we didn’t stay there! However we have photos and videos as proof of us staying the...
Read moreWe did an egg coffee class here with the owner. We were given a welcome drink on arrival and then a thorough explanation and walk through of the difference between robusta and arabica beans included a side by side comparison of appearance and taste. It was fascinating and you could easily see the difference. Fun fact: all coffee from Vietnam is Robusta and is North Americans drink mostly Arabica.
The egg coffee class was phenomenal. We got a full walk through of the origins of egg coffee and then an interactive class on how to make it. Then we got to sit and taste our creations with the options of bruleeing the egg meringue or dusting with cocoa. It was wonderful.
The atmosphere, drinks, owner, everything was top notch. Could not...
