I booked a room in advance trusting the hotel’s service, but they cancelled it, saying that there was no availability due to overbooking. As an alternative, they offered to move us toAMI House Hàng Bài, but did not honor the originally agreed price, which I found unfair and unacceptable.
To make matters worse, when we tried to explain our situation, Kenny Nguyen, a staff member, treated us extremely rudely and even yelled at us, making the experience even more unpleasant. We felt completely mistreated and neglected.
It is unacceptable for a hotel to handle reservations this way, with a complete lack of empathy and professionalism. This experience ruined our arrival in Hanoi, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for fair and respectful treatment. I’will attach a picture of him to be careful of this guy.
I also want to add that when an employee came to collect the payment, they didn’t bring change in Vietnamese currency, so I ended up having to pay in dollars at a higher rate. She justified it by saying it was the rate the bank uses, which is absurd because, as a hotel, you didn’t pay taxes for this rental since the original booking I had made was canceled. Therefore, the dollar rate should have been based on the...
Read moreBeware when booking. Possible scam/false advertising. Booked due to price. Rooms are very different to what is advertised. Upon arrival, I was told check in is not until 10pm. I booked through agoda for 2 nights but they told me I've only booked for 2 half days. Check in at 10pm/check out 11am or 12pm, then would need to wait until 10pm to check back in, if I wanted to stay for 2 whole days I'd need to pay an extra 200,000 per day. The only positive is that the bed was somewhat comfy and you can't hear any noise from the streets, but kids running through corridors, screaming at midnight, both nights, and doors slamming throughout the night made up for that. Also, the elevator and rooms had cockroaches, and the whole building had an off smell to it. This was a very poor introduction to Hanoi for me and has made me not want to come back. Read moreThe hotel it is okey. Some rooms are very small but ,superior ones are okey. The things we didn't like: We spend like 1 week and one day, and we have change our room like 4 times o so, because the owner said that the room that we had booked it was not available... once, he told us at 7 am before a tour... it was not nice from his part. Rooms with balconny you hear a lot of the traffic. We found 2 cockroaches in one of the rooms. The first day, the recepcionist didn't let our friend to come to the room for 5 minutes... Positive things: Receptionist was nicer than the tourist guide guy, specially two boys and the girl. They offer laundry service. Good location, around you have very nice coffe shops. Visit Phin Manual Brew Coffe, it is the best one!! :) They offer tours. They clean the room daily. Good...
