This well-known restaurant chain in Vietnam definitely has its strengths and a solid system for serving customers, but there are also clear areas where improvement is needed.
The restaurant itself is tucked away behind what feels like a large wall, making it a bit tricky to find if you’re unfamiliar with the area. There isn’t clear signage pointing it out either. There’s scooter parking available around the restaurant, and while the parking area is a decent size, it can get difficult to find a spot if you arrive later in the day.
There is a security guard on site, but he seemed uninterested, offering no help to customers and even acting rudely despite not doing much. If the restaurant wants to improve its service, I believe addressing such basic issues would be a good starting point.
Inside, the restaurant has both a front and back entrance, but neither is clearly marked. After confirming our reservation, which we had made via Google, the staff assigned someone to take care of our table. You can order either through a QR code or directly with the staff. However, even before I had a chance to scan the QR code, the staff already informed me that the seasonal ingredients were out of stock. While it’s good they told me upfront, it was disappointing to see a seasonal menu with items that weren’t available, which I imagine would frustrate fans of the restaurant.
We ordered their signature dishes, and they arrived within a reasonable time. The only issue we encountered was with the crab noodles: A signature dish where the crab shell is placed on top of the noodles. While it’s mostly a gimmick, it’s still one of the franchise’s iconic items. However, the staff awkwardly apologized, saying they were out of ingredients. My friend, who had ordered the same dish previously, mentioned he experienced the exact same issue and got the same excuse. It would’ve been better if they had notified us about this when we placed the order.
Lastly, when we were ready to leave and went to retrieve our scooter, the guard was nowhere to be found, leaving us to handle everything on our own. Normally, such issues might not seem major, but since 4P clearly aims for a higher standard and generally does many things well, these service lapses do impact the overall...

Read moreI had been a frequent customer, but yesterday’s visit was probably my last time here.
When we arrived, Pizza 4P’s parking attendant pointed us to the opposite side of the street to park our bikes (even though there seemed to be still some spaces in their parking area). The people there (who looked quite dodgy) charged us 10k for each bike without giving any tickets. By the time we left the restaurant, those people were nowhere to be seen, so I doubt if our bikes were looked after at all.
We were a large group, so Pizza 4P subjected us to their house rule that each guest shall order 400k minimum (before tax and service charge). Takeaways didn’t count. This min order rule turned out to be huge challenge, because:
Most of their main dishes (pizzas and pastas) were less than 200k. Some of the more expensive dishes that we were trying to order were unavailable that day (such as beef stakes). Our favourite dessert, the pudding, also ran out of stock. There were kids and elders in our group who didn’t eat as much.
Despite that, towards the end of the meal, their staff informed us that our orders hadn’t reached the minimum threshold and insisted that we must do so.
If not for the worries of some of my family members, the situation actually looked quite comical: every single one of us was absolutely full, we tried to order as much as we could, and despite our effort to eat more than usual that day, it was still not enough. With regards to the unavailable dishes (which would have enabled us to reach the threshold), the staff asked us for “understanding and forgiveness”, but they were absolutely unforgiving of not us meeting their minimum order requirement!
We ended up with 2 terrible options: either order more food we wouldn’t eat and just waste it, or just pay them extra.
I’m not unfamiliar with the concept of minimum offer, but given the actual circumstances, I think Pizza 4P had failed horribly here, on many levels (their rules, their menu availability, their staff judgement, their parking service). I left the place with a very bad taste...
