I had a wonderful dinner at Ngói Sushi last weekend. Upon entering, I was immediately impressed by the restaurant's warm and elegant ambiance. The Japanese-inspired design, with its delicate decorative details, created a very pleasant and relaxing feeling. The restaurant boasts a diverse sushi menu. The traditional sushi, such as salmon, tuna, shrimp, and eel, were all very fresh and meticulously prepared. In particular, I highly recommend the modern sushi rolls with their creative combinations of ingredients and special sauces. Besides sushi, the restaurant also offers other appealing Japanese dishes like sashimi, tempura, and udon. Each dish was beautifully presented, stimulating the appetite. The service here is excellent. The staff are enthusiastic and attentive. They were always ready to provide recommendations and assist with any requests promptly and politely.Regarding the price, I found it to be reasonable for the high quality of food and service. Ngói Sushi is an ideal place to enjoy high-class Japanese cuisine in a luxurious and...

A sweet memory at Hoi An after a huge pandemic, we were enjoying our relaxing and looking for a Vietnamese cuisine at the Old Town; so we choose “Ngói” cuisine restaurant for the first dinner at Hoi An town. We were surprised with the starter dish at all. Look, you can see “Gỏi xoài tôm mực” with balancing taste and impressed the freshness of green mango and carrot served with sweet and sour fish sauce. I thought that was the best “mixed vegetable” for my starter. Besides, I chose “gỏi cuốn xoài” with fresh mango, avocado and fitting with adorable sauce. I loved the dish best of all, you must try! The main course for my own was a dish with 2 kinds of rice: purple rice and turmeric rice served with meat (I don’t remember what was exactly meat but I interested in kumquat sauce). The last one I chose that “Sweet soup: taro, tapioca and banana”. The Chef was telling me a funny story link to the story of sweet soup with the name is “Three Lady or The third lady”: three grand mother taught him how to cooked that sweet soup. The first lady asked him to peeled off taro and diced taro. The second lay asked him climbed the coconut tree and picked a fresh coconut. The last one asked him to picked stem banana. But everything was perfect with pandan leaves included. Besides, The Guest relation Managers was young and a nice man. He told us the story of “Ngói” restaurant and some advices for us at Hoi An. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, the view and everything at this place. I will be back soon...

Ngói Sushi is the first Japanese restaurant I’ve seen in Hoi An that offers a buffet, priced at 349,000 VND per person, which I found very reasonable. My initial plan was to look for a Japanese restaurant and order A La Carte, but I happened to come across Ngói and decided to give it a try on a pleasantly cool afternoon in Hoi An.

The restaurant seems to have two floors. We sat on the first floor, which was cool enough with just fans (I’m not sure if the restaurant has air conditioning). The décor follows a simple, practical Japanese style, nothing too fancy. Overall, the food tasted good and matched the price. Besides the familiar sashimi, sushi, maki, and nigiri, there were also some grilled dishes with chicken and beef that were worth trying. Udon noodles (stir-fried or soup), fish rice, seafood fried rice, and many other options were also included in the buffet.

Note that the restaurant has a rule regarding leftover food. Cold Sapporo beer is another highlight I’d recommend trying here. I’ll definitely come back with friends to try...
