I've been to this sushi tei location about 5 or 6 times. I've always thought of this place as very quaint and by far the best service in Vietnam. However, I consider myself wrong. Because this time around I'm very disappointed by not only the service, but also the sheer disregard for food order.
Not only did our food arrive incredibly slow, but our drinks didn't even come to the table until the 3rd entrée. The number one rule is to serve your customers their drinks then their entrées. This didn't happen, and our main course didn't come until 45 mins later. I was upset to the point that I didn't bother ordering dessert and pretty much left after the meal.
To my surprise, not only did the management do a poor job overall, but the waitresses were just unprofessional. One of the waitresses actually barged in front of me to get into an elevator that only occupies 5 people. I was supposed to be the 5th.
If you're reading this, you probably think I'm going to say something about the price, I won't. This restaurant has the quality in their food to back up their price. The only real problem is their management personnel.
I'm a big fan of sushi, but I'm never coming back here. Ever again.
Edit: New update, I got stuck going here again with a business partner. He has frequent company meets in large groups and explained to me how things work. I will rescind what I've said before about all the staffs being bad. So from what I've learned the staff is better on the 1st and 2nd floor. The further up you go, the worse they get. Since the higher floor managers don't care since no one is there to monitor them.
In conclusion, if you come here make a reservation for the tables on 1st and 2nd floors. Don't make the mistake I did getting tabled on the 4th floor.
I'll give this place another shot but I'll be making reservations from now on. Hopefully it'll be a better...

They were quick to refill drinks, clear plates, and genuinely seemed invested in making our dinner enjoyable. Read moreWe’re in the area and came across Sushi Tei. What a pleasant surprise. They were very welcoming and polite. The place was extremely clean and we were seated right away. You know you can always tell if a restaurant is clean by looking at the bathroom. The bathroom always reflects the kitchen. And the bathroom was very clean just like the restaurant. Our server Thans was very pleasant. She spoke very softly and politely. Thans did not rush us. We had a lot of questions and she politely answered them. Thans had great recommendations from food choices to drink choices we had the guava mocktail and passionfruit mocktail they was so delicious,It was one of her recommendations. The food did not come quickly, but in a reasonable time and that’s very important. That means they take the time to make it fresh and you can really tell the quality of food is good. All the sushi tasted delicious and I’m definitely coming back. If you’re in this area, I recommend you stop by and get some great food with great service. Hopefully you get Thans because she’ll make you feel like you’re at home and always have a smile on her face. Thank you so much for the great service and I can’t wait to come back.
PS I forgot to mention the cute sushi doughnut, made with sushi rice we had the salmon sushi doughnut. Great for a picture and...
