I don’t understand how this restaurant can get five star reviews for their food. I chose to eat at this restaurant based on their reviews but it is by far the worst food I had in Vietnam. After going through the reviews, I noticed that most of the recent positive reviews are first time reviewers so it’s concerning to me whether they are buying reviews. We had lunch there and they had no customers. We were there early for lunch but while we were there only another group came. So they are definitely not busy. My husband ordered pan fried rice cubes with scallops and grilled duck. I ordered the crab with chilli sauce. My husband is allergic to eggs. The pan fried rice cube with scallops was an omelette. Nothing in the menu described that it contained eggs, which we would expect from an establishment that charges high prices. When the dish arrived we noticed it contained eggs so we told our waitress my husband can’t eat it because he is allergic to eggs. Her remedy was that I can eat more of it and my husband can have more of my crab. We accepted it but the dish wasn’t good so I didn’t eat much of it. Then the duck arrived and the side noodle that came with the duck contained eggs. Unbelievable. Obviously my husband couldn’t eat it. The waitress should had told us there was eggs so we can change our order or tell the chef to not add eggs. Her remedy was that he doesn’t eat the noodle. My husband also told me the duck tasted like baking soda with no flavour. He said it was worse duck he had. Then my crab arrived and the sauce contained eggs! When she originally told me it didn’t. She then told me the chef changed the recipe a month ago. The crab dish was ok but definitely was not worth the price paid. We left the restaurant hungry after paying 1.8M VNĐ. They provided no remedies for a bad experience. Do not be tricked with the five...
Read moreRestaurant is a bit hidden in the back of an alley, nicely decorated and spacious. The highlight was the live music which we got to enjoy for about 15 minutes before it ended. A numbered of things occurred while my family was there I’m just going to share a few things here. Family of eight adults, among other drinks, we ordered an ice tea for one person and a hot tea pot for two other people in the group. The waitress brought out the hot tea pot with three small mugs filled with ice, I asked again for what we ordered. She was confused and told me to pour the hot tea into the ice mug to make my ice tea. Not sure why they put ice in the mugs for hot tea in the first place. Then she brought out an iced tea glass which looked like 99.99% water with a few drops of tea for coloring. My aunt said she couldn’t smell or taste the tea. We paid for five orders of steamed rice (30.000VND/each) to eat with the food ordered. The rice was soggy but undercooked. Their specialty beef plate was dissatisfying in taste, overpriced for the portion served. The sweet and sour fish soup was more sweet and not sour. Chicken plate was equally disappointing, meat was dry and overly sauced and again, portion was small for the price. Two staffers brought out the food and neither brought the rice bowls until we asked about it. I found this restaurant and decided to try it based on reviews, however, this is the first time Google stars rating failed me. Guess they’re wanting to serve American, European, other countries’ tourists counting on the inexperienced customers. If you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is not the place to go. There are way many options at much reasonable price point for better...
Read moreHonestly didn't know what to expect here. I read the reviews and mostly positive but upon arrival I can see why. The restaurant is charmingly decorated with a vintage finish. Both upstairs and downstairs have a different vibe, I recommend upstairs if you're on a date and downstairs if you're with some friends or you just want to people watch.
Usually a restaurant of this calibre you would expect tiny dishes, so I ordered a fair few dishes. I was wrong, each dish was a substantial amount. We ordered 2 appetizers, 2 mains and 2 side dishes, and it honestly felt like a buffet. I am not mad about that but I should warn you all that you're in for a feast.
The crab row prawns dish is life changing!! It came out with 3 mammoth sized prawns and 3 crispy bun things to soak up the luxurious sauce, my mind was absolutely blown away by the richness.
All the dishes were amazingly tasty and the produce was fresh, you can taste the crunch in the vegetable dishes.
Service was excellent 👌 and the food came out like a fast food restaurant, another unexpected positive.
Our meal came to 2 million vnd which is quite expensive compared to local food but I'm sure for most tourists it's an absolute bargain for what you get.
I highly recommend coming here if you're wanting a Vietnamese flavour while being served...
