I made the reservation through the website, and afterward, a staff member contacted me via Zalo to confirm the reservation. I didn't mention in my reservation notes that it was a birthday celebration for a child, so I believe there was a mix-up with information from a previous customer. However, when I confirmed this with the staff, they seemed unaware.
We were seated in a private booth, which hadn't been properly arranged before our arrival. The air conditioning wasn't effective, and there was a strong chemical fragrance in the air. The cold air blew directly onto diners' heads and affected the ventilation system, causing cooking smoke to linger in the room.
There were five of us dining, and we ordered four different set menus, including the A4 Wagyu for 1.8 million VND, foie gras for 1.5 million VND, Angus lamb chops for 1.1 million VND, and beef ribs for 1.1 million VND. These prices exclude the 18% service charge and taxes. The A4 Wagyu and foie gras set menus were decent in taste and quality. However, the 1.1 million VND set menus, whether beef or lamb, were of poor quality, with small portions and tough textures. Particularly, the lamb was practically inedible, extremely tough to chew and swallow.
While the chef's cooking skills were professional, the quality of ingredients and the overall dining environment did not justify the cost. It's not a restaurant I would...
Read moreHad A5+ set for myself and A5 set for the fiancee, with red wine, warm sake and Sapporo beer. The overall experience was great. Having had kobe beef in Kobe, Japan, I wasn't expecting such a high level of beef in Vietnam. I really enjoyed the dinner.
Some minuses that could be easily adjusted: Two aircons that looked quite outdated. This took away from the ambience of the room. Also, the room was quite cold. Not a biggie though
For dessert, the ice cream mochi (macha) was amazing, but the chocolate ice cream was honestly bad. Something you can find in Winmart (frozen sugar with "chocolate" flavor, not real ice cream or gelato as the title of the menu said). Again, not a big thing but considering the price of the restaurant, I think the dessert menu could be brought up a couple notches.
It would also be great if in the menu they would state what grade of A5 beef it is (e.g. A5 8, A5 10 etc). That would give the customer an idea on the marbling of the beef. At least the waitress could be updated on this depending on the grade each day.
It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend Kobe Teppanyaki to anyone wanting to experience Kobe beef in Vietnam. (Maybe just skip the...
