McDonald's Bến Thành — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

From a local perspective, I have given this place a few nicknames: McSlow, McChaos, McNot-so-hygienic...I give this McDonald's a rating of 2 out of 10. Thanks to this experience, I was able to quit this kind of fast food (I used to eat a lot of McDonald's when I was abroad for years).

Here are the details:

I have been here multiple times, and it's always been a game of luck. Sometimes I receive my food quickly and of acceptable quality, but other times it takes at least 10 to 15 minutes for a simple order to come out, even during less busy times. The staff members call out orders with the worst possible attitude, both in Vietnamese and English. While some were nice and smiling, the majority seemed to have lost their happiness in life. They moved around in a chaotic manner, appearing unsure of what to do, just waiting for their shift to end. Perhaps the company doesn't pay them enough to even smile, which is the basic expectation for any service.

The food quality is extremely inconsistent. Sometimes I order burgers and the sauce spills out everywhere, the meat is dry, and it becomes a complete mess. The fried potatoes are a constant disappointment. 9 out of 10 times, they are under-seasoned, tasteless, and sad. According to McDonald's protocol, customers should receive their potatoes within 7 minutes of them coming out of the fryer. Generally, I'm content if I receive them within 10 minutes. However, the taste here suggests that they have been sitting around for at least 15 minutes or even longer.

As for cleanliness, it is absolutely horrendous. The toilets are messy, the handwashing area is always wet and dirty, not to mention the difficulty in using the water lock mechanism. You have to hold it with one hand to get the water to come out while trying to wash the other hand independently. It takes forever for the tables to be cleaned, and the ordering screens are always covered in fingerprints. It's like a haven for spreading viruses. Additionally, I doubt the sauce pump handle is ever cleaned. I have never seen any staff member use an alcohol cleaner to clean the button before changing the sauce container that has run out. Just think about it: thousands of hands pushing the same black plastic button—what if someone didn't wash their hands?

It's an absolute mess, and I can't understand why so many Western tourists come here. Come on, guys! Vietnam has so much delicious organic and hot food to offer. Not to mention that the prices at McDonald's here are ridiculously high. For the price of 1 set meal, average around 80,000 VND, you can have 1 or even 2 super tasty and healthy bowls of pho. Step out of your comfort zone and try a couple of local places. It's always better than the...

Poor as items are missing on menu ... did several time order or eat at this place ... matter food quality not consistent ... style of food not consistent and kind of game as the chicken spicy burger is my favorite one ... never same ... at different Tim of the day ... morning lunch afternoon or dinner ... sometime dry ... sometimes hard dry like stone ... sometime super juicy and crispy ... sometime medium quality ... even now that people get less money you charge an extra mini sauce box of sweet & sour sauce for nuggets 5000vnd extra if you need one more ... ketchup or sauce tomato as per translation ... spicy sour sauce you give a tonnes ... but for sour sauce you charge... not logic ... the biggest issue you are serving a chef that is in this business for last 27 years ... did several experience at different level and different style of product ... fast food too ... with such MAC D ... standard and policy you still can not keep same quality ... strange ... your leaders managers of each place (near opera ... in d2 ... same issues) might got some training and might get more followed by area directors ... big name as Mac Do ... nothing behind ... just the price ... profits ... 4 to 5 years ago was quiet consistent ... last 3 years dropping each time I go there ... Mac Do is no more the one who was ... sorry to say ... 1.5 years ago I was so upset at D2 with missing items and poor quality I told myself finish no more ... today after 3 month of confinement I did a trial again ... sorry was the last so upset to spend money with poor quality ... bye bye bye...

Garbage McDonald's branch. Order something and they forget your order for a whole 10 minutes while you are standing in their face and they aren't even fkn busy. There was only one other order. Between two orders, you completely forget the first??

They serve a group of 5 big guys a group meal who have a higher order number than me, make it any less obvious??

It's not even grilled or cooked, just wanted a beverage and dessert. Staff were panicking by the time they finally sent someone to ask about my order and took my receipt without returning it?????? How am I supposed to prove my order if you take my copy and don't return it? Shouldn't you have your own copy?

Once they checked my order it took them under 30 seconds to prepare it, are you SERIOUS? Then they put it on a tray when my original request was take away. So I told them, it's take away. They checked the receipt they took from me to see if I was bring difficult on purpose lmao, and what did they notice? Oh yeah it was take away. It ALWAYS was. But who has time to dine here after waiting 10 minutes for dessert? Are you kidding?
