Mechanic - Coffee & Cocktail Bar — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Had so much fun here at the bar top with Truong and Cam! These two really made the experience so much fun. The cocktail menu was creative and very unique- my favorite drink was a savory one with bell pepper and tomato/zucchini water (can’t remember the name.) Cam ended making me a delicious custom drink that tasted like a Gusher candy (my fav candy.) That’s a skilled bartender indeed!!

The happy hour pricing is 30% off all cocktails from 10a-8p which made drinks incredibly reasonably priced. Sundays I’m pretty sure they’re closed, which I’m glad to see, bc there are only two behind the bar so it means they get at least a day off.

The bar is beautiful and intimate, but they were super nice about letting us play our own music upon request.

Came for one, stayed for six cocktails 😂 great time with great bartenders! Thanks so much you guys.

my most honest review about the mechanics (must read!!!) went there with a group of friends on sunday night the bar closes quite early, at 1am :( boooo we loved it there so much the drinks were amazing, from the taste to the decoration. the bar has very unique cups for each different drink, and the name of the drinks are all creative the bar’s decoration is beautiful and imo, very instagram worthy it is a speak-easy bar, lovely for conversations gotta save the best for the last, the bartender is LOVELY, just LOVELY. He advised us wisely on the drinks choice (we all loved our drinks). He even treated us free Hanoi shots, which is also amazing. This place is located shortly into an alleyway, and overall has a cool vibe. However, we were rudely surprised when closing out the bill over 15% of "taxes and service charges," which we were told was "standard" for Saigon (it's not). The prices of the drinks were about the same as we found at similar bars, and those did not charge us the same surcharge. I am a foreigner and have to wonder if they did this as an attempt at gouging.

The drinks we did have were good, and the service was prompt. They removed a 15k dong mixer charge after we contested the bill, but overall I don't like being surprised with additional charges on top of already-high drink prices. Beware if...
