Descent bar and restaurant for good selection of German imported beer(very important) and food menu looks excellent too but did not eat this time. Comfortable inside area with a seated bar area at the back, music playing in the background which allows one to one conversions. To be honest why drink Heineken or Tiger when you have imported German Arco Weizen and Arco Urfass on draught and bottled Hofbrau Munchner in bottles also imported from Germany. Always worth paying more for quality beer. I am actually drinking Veldensteiner Schwarzbier black lager which is excellent as I have never drunk this beer before and does not disappoint when it enters my mouth. Location of Parkhaus is only a slow 20 minute walk away from the river and Don Khoi Street. This drinking and eating establishment is located in the so called backpackers area of Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) Bui Vien Streetwere where there is a gold mine of cheap hotels and restaurants. Undoubtedly after cycling in the city in 34c temperatures one does get thursty but not for water. Thankfully inside Parkhaus the inside temperature is very sensible as their air conditioning is set to a healthy condition. There is nothing worse then being outside in 34-37c temperatures and going into a place of very cold, ice box air conditioning, for me it is very uncomfortable but here it was very comfortable. Have to recommend Parkhaus on the beer and obviously will have to return to...
Read moreReturned today 29/03/25. Food was as great as ever. Service though, is really lacking. No greeting, no enthusiasm, no smiles. Most restaurants give complimentary water. Not here, I requested a glass & reluctantly they brought one. Not a thank you when I paid the bill. Parkhaus, decent service is not too much to hope for, nor is a glass of water. End of update.
What great food! This was my first visit here & I cannot wait to go back again & again. My aim is to try everything on the comprehensive menu. Everything we ate today was 10/10, truly delicious & every bite was a delight. We had the potato salad, the beetroot spinach salad - both perfectly seasoned & tasty. Followed by jaeger shnitzel - the mushroom sauce was incredible, cheese spaetzle, I believe this was my favorite dish. It had a wonderfully strong cheese taste through it. All in all great food, great prices, great service made for a unforgettable visit. Highly recommended & I will be visiting here...
Read moreI grew up in a neighborhood, where there's a lot of Russian people around me, so you can say I have my fair share of sausage and western food experience and my expectation is high. Somehow, this place really blow me away with its food.
The sausage platter is nice, I don't think i can find equivalent or better sausages for such price. The only one I don't really like is the butter filled sausage, which taste really weird and not in a good way. The pretzel is a little salty, but it comes down to preference so I think it's ok. The cheese spaetzle is the highlight for me, you can taste the fat and the richness of the cheese in every bite (though if u left it out too long it becomes stale so better finish it fast)
My only regret is that i have to drive so i cant order any beer, but i think i'll come...
