I usually don't go to places without reviews, but it's a true honor to leave the first one here. After a quest for a cheap (₫40,000), amazing and abundant/filling phỏ, I finally found it right off the main tourist traps around backpackers street. After two weeks in Vietnam, arriving to HCMC made me a bit worrisome of high prices, small portions, and not-so-tasty food, but this place made me forget all that. I ordered Bun Bo Hue with beef blood cake toppings. Took the first sip and I was like “DamnnN what’s in this soup”. This extraordinary soup has savoury & flavourful rich bone broth. Compared to other nearby shops which are pricy & overhyped, Bun Bo Hue here is affordable. It even has big chunk of beef, beef slices.

For such a short road, little Đỗ Quang Đẩu in the heart of Saigon's backpacker area, has a good deal of authentic Vietnamese eateries. If you want a very good Pho Bo, you go to Pho Quynh, if it's excellent Bon Bo Hué you fancy, you check out Ut Hue. A basic little hole in the wall, that also does great Goi Cuon and home made wonton.
