I ate lunch here with my cousins. We had thought we would start with 2 sets and would order more. The price is not bad. The tuna was not fresh. We each had a piece, and all agreed it was disgusting. After telling the waitstaff that their tuna was not fresh, their solution was to talk to the kitchen and offer a free desert as if I would eat from a place that made me throw up. I wanted to pay and get the hell out of there as soon as possible. I threw up while waiting for them to finish with my bill. I ran out of the restaurant in a hurry holding my mouth. Thank goodness the toilet was not too far away. I returned to the restaurant to a dirty look from the hostess. Now I am battling my stomach cramp...praying I don't get food poisoning or throw up anymore. I have eaten sushi all over the place....this has never ever happened to me. Given that the place sells raw fish, freshness should be the priority... this was not the case. The price to quality ratio is way off here. I will never return for sure. Stay away from this place... there are better sushi places in the area, surely these reviews are bought...
Read moreMy wife and I go to Hokkaido Sushi at Cresent Mall in D7 every week, but since we were at Saigon Centre, it seemed like a good idea to stop by and get some good food.
A word of warning, this location is busy enough that they do run out of various menu items throughout the day. It really just depends. Also, there might be a wait depending on the time. Reservations are available.
For example, today I wanted the king salmon sashimi. Kong salmon was sold out, but they had regular salmon sashimi. Regular salmon is a more fatty fish, but I don't really care. Salmon is salmon and both their fish and the cuts are amazing. Good quality Japanese food.
Also, I'm obsessed with their avocado salad. I've tried to duplicate the dressing at home and haven't quite got it yet. It's a sesame oil and vinegar mix. Really good. My wife always gets the salmon hand rolls. Sometimes I steal them. They're really good as well.
All in all it's a 5 star chain. But because of that they're busy. So, make a reservation or be ok with waiting a bit and you'll be...
Read moreA nice Japanese restaurant in Saigon Centre.
It’s located on the 5th floor of the mall. It’s next to my favorite Japanese restaurant about meat. I wet to this restaurant on the fourth day of Tet Holiday so it’s quite crowed. However, the staff still handling well and get the table ASAP for me.
The staff taking our order is so friendly. She suggest us a lot of best dishes of the restaurants and take the order really quick. On the previous time I went, the staff taking our order was little bit slow cause she didn’t remember all of the dishes’s name. We went 5 people so it’s quite a big order, but the staff still manage everything well.
Food was served quickly although the restaurant was crowed. The rolls were the fastest and delicious. Highly recommend the scallop roll, we always call that dish every time.
This restaurant also know for the fresh seafood. The decoration of the food is also delicate and special.
The price was little bit expensive but it’s worthy. I won’t go to other Japanese restaurants since I know Shushi...
