My partner and I went for dinner on Saturday 28th December at The Reveley Bar in their restaurant on the second floor . We had a drink down stairs to start which we had to line up and wait for as we were told the restaurant does not open till 530pm and we could not go up till 550pm as our booking was at 6pm. On arrival we were greeted and sat at our table. Just after we had been served around 630pm I proceeded to go to the bathroom. I would presume that as the venue had been closed that the one shared toilet on this level would be clean.. I was wrong . It was an absolute disgrace. Toilet paper on the floor, paper hand towels thrown on the floor, a very full and over flowing bin and no toilet paper on the holder but placed on top. I quietly went to the manager and informed her that it would be good if she sent some to clean it up as it was a disgrace in their. She informed me that she would. Our entrée arrived and give credit the food was excellent. After entrée off to the toilet I go and you would think by this stage about 30 minutes later that the manager would of cleaned the toilets, NO it was still in the disgrace state it was before. When your paying top dollar for food and drinks how hard is it to actually have a clean environment especially in these new times. I return to the manager saying that the toilets still have not been cleaned and her excuse is that she is busy. I quietly inform her it’s actually her job to ensure the toilets are cleaned and that we as the paying customer should not have to walk into such a disgrace when we want to go to the toilet, especially with only 1 toilet on this level. She pertains in answering me back that it’s hard to get staff to clean toilets . I quite firmly tell her that this is not my problem and she needs to actually do her job as the manager. By this stage the restaurant is busy and if you want to now go to the toilet you either have to line up or go downstairs to the bar and use the one there.. not a good set up at all. My partner and I happily finish our meals and ask for the bill. Once we have paid the bill the manager quite bluntly tells me that she did not like the way I spoke to her and proceeds to tell me that I am not welcome to come back to the restaurant . By this stage I have stood up put her back in her place as she then proceeds to argue with me. Unfortunately I now have raised my voice at her and told her that if she actually did her job then this would not be happening. What was a very nice meal turned out to be one of my worst ever experiences .. I have never in my 25 years of being in the hospitality industry had a manger tell me that I was not welcomed back after giving them some constructive feedback regarding their toilets. She was rude, obnoxious and certainly not a manager that should be working in her role. I would never return nor would I suggest anyone to spend there money at this place . With the style of restaurant you are eating at you deserve the right to go into a clean toilet . NOT a toilet that looks like a nightclub toilet with paper and toilet paper thrown around the place....
Read moreI organized my work Christmas party here a few weeks ago. Not impressed with the overall service at all. Firstly it was extremely difficult to book the event due to the large amount of event coordinators. I would call and talk to one coordinator and then get told something completely different by another coordinator via email. Very confusing and inconsistent. I requested a section of the rooftop bar, and was disappointed that the Reveley 'apparently' don’t allocate spaces until the day of the event, which later turned out to be misleading. After telling me I couldn’t get the rooftop, I strongly asked for the south side terrace which was available at the time of my booking, only to be told a few weeks prior that I was allocated to the city side alfresco.
When ordering food for my party, I was extremely disappointed to be told that the pizzas were only exclusive to people on the rooftop. Yet pizzas are advertised and listed on the function menu which doesn’t say this at all!?! How hard is it to just walk downstairs and serve some pizzas. Well apparently not because all night I observed several other canapes that I ordered for my event being delivered via a dumbwaiter behind the bar.
On your drinks menu you have GIANT cocktails. Awesome. However after buying one, I was then told that I had to share it with someone as the cocktail contained more than 1 standard drink. WOW REALLY……in the midst of another COVID outbreak I find this EXTREMELY UNHYGIENIC, and not to mention that this IS NOT listed on the menu at all!!! And then I had the bar staff come up to me and my colleagues making sure we were ‘’sharing’’ our cocktails and not drinking them by ourselves. Wow this is next level responsible service of alcohol. Maybe don’t have the drink on the menu if people can’t drink them BY THEMSELVES!!!!
Lastly for a venue in such an iconic/ popular location, it was disappointing to find that the restrooms only consisted of 1 male toilet, 1 female toilet and 1 disabled toilet. For a venue that hosts at least 100+ people a night this caused long cues that went around the bar. Even restaurants smaller than the Reveley have larger bathrooms than you. Sorry to say but I will not be returning...
Read moreWe had a bottomless dinner planed for quite a few weeks to celebrate a birthday and many attendees had travelled from around the state to attend the dinner. I dont have anything positive to say about the experience except two of the wait staff were lovely despite the chaos that they were working in. We waited 2 hours from seating for our main meals to be served after several requests from our group asking for feedback on what the issue was, we were told the restaurant was overbooked. We had to consistently find waitstaff to replenish drinks for the tables including water and spent way too much time chasing up drink's orders that did not appear. Both main and entree were extremely disappointing and the fact that the restaurant could not cope with the amount of people booked reflected in the quality of the meals. I was so disappointed on behalf of the girls who had organized the dinner as we were all by the end of the main extremely unhappy with the experience. We ended up having to request bread for the table to avoid leaving hungry. Next stop after leaving was straight to another venue for food. What was also the straw on the camels back is the single unisex toilet on that particular floor of the restaurant. One toilet for that many patrons was not enough. I'm not sure if the poor service, poor food and general lack of the staff not really too concerned that we were not having the best experience is a one off for this venue, but for a business to operate like this especially in the Perth CBD, I'm not sure how it receives such great reviews. I def will not be back or recommend to anyone. It's a fantastic venue and location but we were terribly let down by the...
