I wasn't sure what to expect from Observatory Hill Lookout, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's a bit of a climb to get up there, especially on a hot day like today, but the views are definitely worth it. You get a panoramic vista of the harbor, the bridge, and the Opera House, all framed by the lush green of the park. It's a stunning sight, and I spent ages just soaking it in. There were a few families picnicking on the grass, and some joggers using the path around the hill. It felt like a nice mix of locals and tourists, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the sunshine and the scenery. I found a shady spot under a big fig tree and just relaxed for a while, reading my book and listening to the birds chirping. It's not a fancy attraction by any means, but it's a peaceful and beautiful spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a free and relaxing way to spend an afternoon in Sydney.

Went there just after sunset which is really great, but if you love sunset and sunrise pictures, it is recommended to go there during these times. The place is really good for taking pictures of Sydney from the lookout hill. Night scenes are just as amazing as day scenes, so whatever your taste is, day, night, sunrise, sunset, there are fantastic scenes for taking pictures and selfies. For those who like photography, this is a really good and interesting place to visit. Otherwise, if you like the scene away from the city and noise, come to a quiet place after a day of work, play or study and enjoy the views. It may be a bit crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings, but a trip with some friends or family would be lovely.

good view of the harbour if you want something different when you’re in the rocks area. if you have busy young toddlers, you might not enjoy too much because there’s a bit of downhill descent and ends in the gates of the hill. just need to take care. but if they’re in the pram, enjoy this area. :) it’s a short hike uphill but you already know it’s a hill. enjoy!

Us Sydneysiders (especially those like ME who have lived here for 3 decades!) need to NEVER FORGET to bring our o/s friends to this exquisite spot (b4 we take them for drinks in The Rocks, not after 🤩). Such a wonderful place for them to physically see & experience in real life WHY those of us who love it always have & always will. PLEASE put this spot on your “Guest List” & make certain you bring them here. Even if the weather’s overcast - after being here for 15 minutes they WILL understand why “Sydney matters” to those of us it does...
