Located at 55 Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺. A great theatre situated at Star Casino in Pyrmont. Easy to get to by light rail or car. There’s lots of restaurants to pick from in the casino. We went to see &Juliet and it was wonderful. We went to the Matinee performance which is really convenient for transportation sake, especially if you’re going by public transportation. There’s very good access by public transportation with the light rail station situated right under the casino. I have also seen Wicked and Mary Poppins here and they were fantastic also. Obviously a theatre well equipped to put on a fantastic performance. There’s good toilet facilities but to get to the stalls, there’s a lot of stairs to climb. I am not sure if there’s a lift, I didn’t see one. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. You are able to get merchandise for whatever show you are seeing but it’s quite expensive. There’s also beverages and food available. A great place to see a show. I will say that even though price can be a huge factor when purchasing tickets to a show, if you can manage to get tickets closer to the stage, it’s definitely worth it. You get a much better experience. We had tickets in the stalls in the last row, therefore, we couldn’t really see the facial expressions on faces of actors and all of the screens above the stage. We still had a great time. When I went to see Wicked, I paid extra for a seat about 5 rows back from the stage and it was definitely worth it.

A good theatre, improved over the years and well maintained. You really don't have a choice which theatre you're going to for a show, since the show itself will dictate that for you, so most reviews here will be pointless. There is limited foyer/lobby space so you inevitably spill into the main Star premises so it's not a complete standalone theatre which works out for you if you want to grab gelato at messina nearby. Not obvious where the cloak room but I was able to fit my backpack under my seat. Seats are a little squish, if I wasn't consciously tucking in my elbows I'm sure I would have clobbered into neighbours at some point, but not the worst I've ever been to in a theatre either. The theatre is not big so you don't need to go early if you have your tickets already, I rocked up 10 minutes before start and had no issues getting into my seat quickly although they have a strict lockout so you don't want to get in too late, and leaving the venue was not too painful with the rush all at once. Parking is strangely not recommended in the Star, instead they recommend harbourside carpark down the road with a 5-10 minute walk, I imagine Star car park is simply chaos. Annoyingly, they let people into seats with their ice cream/gelato and on the way out I had to step over every lazy person's decision to use the floor as a bin - probably the worst problem with this place is just letting that be acceptable.

Great experience every time at at the Lyric theatre. The venue is very clean and nice. Lots of food places around and variety to choose from. Plenty of toilets, as you know it is very important. The getting there and parking is convenient. You have choices to park at The Star and pay a bit more or park at Wilson Carpark nearby and pay $14 flat rate but you must validate the ticket at the cloak room. If you catch a train it is also super convenient as you can get off at Central station, catch a light rail and get off at the Star Casino stop. Not effect much even the rainy day. I never catch a bus there so I can’t tell you about buses. But I am sure it is convenient too. It’s the Star we are talking about. We went to watch Shen Yun show and the show is amazing. All programs are interesting with wide range of performances in one night. From music to dance to love orchestra. Worth spending the night there. Everything from picking up tickets, get drinks, entering the theatre and leaving the show. They have all very professional and helpful staff at the theatre. Everyone is willing to help you if any issue. Such a pleasant experience. It is a night to remember for sure.

The Sydney Lyric Theatre offers an impressive venue for enjoying live performances, and I'd rate it an 8 out of 10. Located in the vibrant Darling Harbour area, it's easy to find and surrounded by plenty of dining options for pre- or post-show meals. The theater itself is beautiful, with a grand and elegant design that adds to the excitement of the event. Inside, the seating is comfortable, and the layout generally provides good sightlines. However, depending on the show and your seat location, there may be occasional obstructions, so it's worth checking the seating plan when booking. The acoustics are solid, providing clear sound that enhances the overall experience, but for some larger productions, it could be slightly sharper. The staff are friendly, and entry and exit are well-organized, which helps with the flow of guests in and out of the venue. My only minor criticisms would be that the intermission areas can get quite crowded, and the snack options are fairly standard and pricey. Overall, the Sydney Lyric Theatre is an excellent spot to enjoy live shows, with a few small areas for improvement that could elevate the experience even further.

one of the best place to see live musical. the latest experience was to watch Mary Poppins. I love the show and it felt like a child watching it. the venue was great except for the long queue going to the toilet before and in between the show which is expected. the show started at 6:30 pm and everyone were waiting.. it was strange that there was no queue.. I was thinking the show was cancelled, they allowed people to come it at the exact time unlike on other times that I went to watch a live show.. everyone already at the entrance waiting to be admitted. those who had their wine.. they have to pour the wine from the glass wine to the plastic cups before entry which can delay the admission of all entrant. perhaps, offer the plastic cups if the person wants to drink while watching the show to make the process quicker. oftentimes, there are lots of people depending on whatever is being shown. the shows at the sydney lyric theatre has always been impressive.. from pippin, to frozen to Mary Poppins.. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.. bring your kids for a very good experience.. let us all support local talents and business.
