My husband and I were disappointed with this beach. While the natural beauty was apparent, it was also apparent that the locals were exploiting tourists. They charged $10 per lounge chair and $20 per umbrella. So $40 to sit on a beach where they were blasting music and yelling at one another. They kindly informed us that we could leave our belongings there and no one would touch them. We knew that was not the case. Locals were lingering about with no apparent purpose. Some kids were working while others just hung out, waiting for instructions from the adults. There were food stands where they charged exorbitant prices. I tried to place an order four times before giving up. The girl was eating with her hands and licking her fingers. A woman was yelling at her to stop eating so she could take the order. She kept eating and licking her fingers. By the time she was ready to take the order, she informed me that they were out of everything I wanted to order. They also sold “drink packages”. Their hustle was so strong that I knew something was off. My husband found out that they filled bottles with something other than what the labels indicated, getting tourists highly inebriated very quickly. In short, this is a tourist trap...
Read moreGoodman's Bay Beach was an extremely disappointing and unsanitary experience. Upon arrival, we found the sand to be very dirty, littered with seaweed, dirt, and other garbage. This location feels like a setup orchestrated by taxi drivers who receive kickbacks from vendors selling beach chairs, umbrellas, and activities like jet skis. Despite requesting to be taken to Cable Beach, our driver dropped us here instead. The water was a murky brown from the excessive boat and jet ski traffic, and the air was thick with the smell of exhaust. The overwhelming commercial activity completely ruins any potential for a peaceful beach visit. I strongly advise others to avoid this...
Read moreWe were aboard a cruise ship when we were excitedly brought to what was promised to be an idyllic beach getaway. The anticipation quickly turned to dismay as we approached the shore. Instead of pristine sands and crystal-clear waters, we were greeted by a disheartening sight. Littered with food containers and debris, the beach had lost its allure, tarnished by neglect. The once-inviting atmosphere was further marred by the smell of marijuana wafting through the air, as groups of people gathered carelessly, seemingly oblivious to their surroundings. My heart sank as disappointment washed over me; this was a far cry from the paradise we...
