Absolutely loved this attraction! There is so much to learn about science and history, and then a wonderful walk through the tunnel to a nice observation deck to view the falls.
Take the audio tour (it's free). At various exhibits, there is a signal transmitter. "Point" the front of your audio player to the transmitter, as if you are turning it on with a remote control, and it starts playing information about that exhibit. You can learn a lot about the exhibits through that.
At 45 minutes past the hour, towards the furthest part of the museum, there is a live demo of the Tesla coil. If you have family members sensitive to loud noises, you may want to take them outside for a few minutes.
After exploring the main floor, take the elevator down to the tunnels. It's a nice cool walk towards the exit. The audio tour is very handy here, and you will hear about construction, sabotage and even hauntings at the site!
The tunnel ends at the observation deck, where they have ponchos to protect from the mist. Enjoy the views...
