By far..this is THE BEST theatre I have been to. This is THE REASON WHY I go to the casino in the first place.
The reason for my review, is to show the “powers that be” that closing this theatre when the new one opens (that holds 5000 people instead of 1500) would be a HUGE MISTAKE on their part.
Going to the Avalon theatre is a UNIQUE experience for us. Imagine seeing your former idol from your teen years up close and personal...even if you were up on the balcony.
And SOME of the performers have a FREE “meet and greet” afterwards..with selling their promotional products after their performance. It quite popular...AND appreciated.
I find these HUGE stadiums like Copps Coliseum (First Ontario Centre)...or the Air Canada Centre (Skydome) are WAAAAY TOO BIG for fans to have a personal live view of their favourite performer. I find the bigger the star, the further away you will be..and you would be watching THE ENTIRE CONCERT on video screens..which is TOTALLY UNFAIR to the fan who has paid OVER $100 to see this person or event.
I saw Pearl Jam at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and the band was SOOOO FAR AWAY, that the lead singer was as big as my pinky toe nail, a 1000 feet away. The ENTIRE TIME I was watching the video screen, just “to see” the band. I could of watched this on a DVD at home...it was the SAME experience..except worse... people shoving me in my seat to go to the washroom or for getting a beer...the screen was a half a km away...however, on t.v. at home, it would be only a few feet away. And I COULD SEE THE ENTIRE BAND UP CLOSE...but not in a stadium setting...UNLESS you spent THOUSANDS of $$$$ to be near the stage.
ANOTHER THING, I CAN NOT STAND is having the audience BEHIND the stage, so the ENTIRE BAND is facing their backs towards you the ENTIRE TIME!!! This is a TOTAL MONEY GRAB from the promoters..to get $1000’s of dollars MORE in their pockets!!!!
So, there you have it!
I have been a LOYAL guest at the Fallsview/Casino Niagara for about 15 years now. Keeping the Avalon theatre would be a GOOD thing, bringing the guest that UNIQUE experience that they would NEVER get with a bigger theatre or stadium.
I HOPE that the Management as well as the NEW Management of the Fallsview Casino Resort IS LISTENING!!!!!! And 👂 HEARING what I have to say!!!!
Sincerely,
Your...
Read moreAwful experience this past weekend at the Avalon Theater. We waited a year to see Brad Paisley after two reschedules just to be told our tickets were invalid and there was nothing they could do. Fallsview casino switched the theater he was playing in and Ticketmaster cancelled all of our tickets without informing us and telling us we needed to purchase new ones. So we drove all the way from Buffalo and paid for a hotel room for no reason. The woman at the box office was also super rude and gave attitude and blamed us saying that the email was probably sent to our junk and we just didn’t see it (however it was not there… and apparently it happened to a bunch others so they PROBABLY just didn’t send the email). Worst part of it all is that I called the casino the day before we left to confirm he was playing before we...
Read moreWas very disappointed that when booking tickets was not made aware of the seats I selected had an obstructed view. Went to the ice show today with two disabled family members. Sat in the first row in balcony and could only see 1/2 the ice sirface. Tried sitting forward in chair close to railing and the people behind complained they could not see. Could not leave because walking is challenging for the family member and to maneuver up the stairs in the dark would be impossible. So had to sit through the performance not able to see a lot of what looked like an amazing show. One of the parties I was with sat back in seat and slept. Please inform people the seats that have...
