Where to begin with such a disappointing and frustrating stay? Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel was overwhelmingly negative, and I would not recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Niagara Falls.||First, the room was not properly cleaned—surfaces were dirty, the bathroom had visible wear and damage, and it was clear that attention to detail was lacking with basic cleaning of surfaces/floors and counters. The towel bar had been ripped from the wall, tiles were cracked, the wall had gashes as if something had clawed at it above an adults waist line, and the bathtub was unusable for baths since the lever was broken. This was a bit of a problem as we had younger children in the room. The AC/heater also didn’t function, leaving the room stuffy and uncomfortable.||We booked through Priceline and were surprised upon arrival to learn about a Niagara Falls’ tourist tax, which ranged from 21–23% on everything—food, hotel, and attractions. Apparently they didnt get the cost of the taxes from Priceline so we were billed this on top. We were told this goes toward funding the falls and fireworks but there was no fireworks over the weekend. The hotel, along with much of the surrounding area, was dirty and poorly maintained—certainly not what one expects in a major tourist destination.||Hotel staff were unhelpful and inconsistent. Simple requests—like a late check-out—were met with confusion and contradictory responses. Every day, I had to call the front desk from inside the hotel pool to request towels, as they were never restocked. The staff at the front desk lacked hospitality and any effort to provide basic customer service. I understand this isn’t a 5-star hotel, but being part of a well-known chain, there should be some standard of professionalism and support. Instead, it felt like an unattended motel with no one available to assist guests properly.||The pool itself is a decent size, but shockingly, it has NO SHALLOW END—a serious concern for families with young children. As a result, children crowded into the hot tub, which seemed unhygienic and poorly managed. The hot tub jets created bubbles but lacked any real pressure for relaxation or massage. It was more decorative than functional.||Breakfast was; soggy scrambled eggs, greasy pork sausages, bread, large tubs of yogurt, basic cereal, muffins, and what might've been a waffle maker. It was mediocre at best and did not make up for the other shortcomings of the hotel.||This is the second Quality Inn I’ve stayed at in recent weeks, and the trend seems consistent—poor service, run-down conditions, and underwhelming amenities. There appeared to be many international students working day and night shifts, many of whom lacked basic customer service skills, including personal hygiene, and displayed little effort to engage politely with guests. This seemed to be consistent at both locations I stayed at.||The only comfort we found at this hotel was the lock on the hotel room door literally and unlike other guests we didnt have to put towels at the door to fill the gaps of the door and floor of the front door of our rooms.|The hotel’s proximity to the falls is a decent walking distance to major attractions, but worth saving you from from paying the outrageous $25 parking fees charged almost everywhere in Niagara Falls on weekends.||Overall, this hotel was a waste of money, and I would not stay here again. It fell far below the standards one should expect, even at a...
Read moreThis hotel's ONLY redeeming quality is its proximity to the river and a WeGo bus stop. But even that is not ideal since it's a long walk up a very steep hill to get back to the hotel once you're at the river. I dont mind old and dated hotels. This is not dated; this is dirty, neglected, and falling apart. I posted pictures of some of the broken things in the room. Here's also a list of some of them: Non functioning and dirty jacuzzi. We did try just to run the water, but a large bug flew out of the tap. They called me 2 hours before check-in to inform me it was broken. I was offered a meager discount or the option to cancel. If I had canceled, I would not have had a place to stay for the night. They also told me the repair person was unable to come for the repair until after the end of my stay. The floors were so dirty I had to keep a towel at the bed to wipe my feet off before laying down. I specifically requested floor cleaning from housekeeping, but nothing changed. Multiple handles broken off the dresser Paint peeling and bubbling off the walls Ants and spiders in the room Sliding door handle looked like it had been replaced a dozen times, and all the holes of past handles still on the door. Both inside and out. Balcony ralings rusting and crumbling Only 1 broken, plastic chair for us to sit on the balcony TV speakers did not work. Even at max volume we could not hear the TV when sitting 4 feet away on the edge of the bed. Air conditioner ran constantly just to keep the room a bearable temperature, and I do not keep the room super cold. Even when on the lower/quieter setting, it was still hard to carry a conversation in the room over the sound of the air conditioner. The headboard was so disgustingly dirty and I'm disappointed in myself for not noticing it at first. I made the mistake of sitting up in the bed and leaning my head on the headboard. My hair literally stuck to the headboard and pulled out a few hairs when I pulled away. The walls in the bathroom were covered in faux tile panels and they were visibly bubbling and pulling away from the wall. If you touched the wall it would buckle and move under the lightest touch. The shower curtain rod was falling off the wall. It was designed to arch out and make more room in the shower. Instead, it was sagging so low the curtain wouldn't stay shut, it would fall back into the middle while we were in the shower.
I could go on, but you get the idea. I gave this same feedback to the hotel.in their request after my stay. Their only reply was, "we are sorry we did not exceed your expectations, we will take your feedback under advisement."
I would not recommend anyone I know or care about stay...
Read morewe took a 2 night package deal which included 2 free breakfasts and one dinner at coco`s steakhouse and one dinner at the Skylon rotating restaurant.
At Coco`s, my husband ordered the prime rib.....it was huge AND amazing with potatoes, fresh veggies, not canned, warm bread. I ordered ribs and was surprised to get a full rack...also with potatoes and veggies. loved the ribs. Coffee and tea included. The only thing you pay for is if you order drinks.
At the Skylon, we got a free ride up which included going up to the observation floor after having a wonder full 3 course meal. I ordered the onion soup....wow,,,so good I had steak,,,,so big I could not finish it,,,just melted in my mouth. again with potatoes and fresh veggies. My husband had prime rib there too. again, amazing. plus, you cant beat the view. Dessert, coffee and tea were included...all no extra charge. we ordered wine which is the only thing we had to pay for.
I do not usually write reviews. The reason I am this time...... we read reviews about this Quality Hotel, and they were not the best . We almost cancelled our reservation. so glad we didn't.. we would have missed out on a great mini get away.
yes,,,the hotel is dated.....I do not have marble in my house and I am not willing to pay extra to see marble in a hotel's entrance . I want clean and comfortable ....which is always my main priority and this is what we got.
the bed was very comfortable..great pillows....we slept well.
The TV is smaller than most hotels...so what? I wasn't in Niagara Falls to watch TV. The pool was great too.
a small balcony off our patio door. the wall paper was curling up a bit at the corner of the patio door under the curtains....did it affect my sleep because of it?
The staff was very polite and helpful. There was plenty of free parking. right across from Fallsview Casino,(which has a lot of interesting stores inside, like a mall) a short walk from Skylon tower, a 10 minutes walk down Murray street and you are on the main drag facing the American falls. Plenty of restaurants all around. MY point is....it makes me sad to think that that we would have missed out on such a beautiful and romantic time away because of reviews from people who get a package deal at a very good price and expect a marble palace. We parked the car when we got there and did not use it again until we left.
Just for the record...mu husband and I will be looking out for this 2 night package deal again. WE LOVED IT ALL. Worth the drive...
