From the outside, this place looked packed and very pretty, especially given the name. The inside was very disappointing.

I was in Niagara Falls, Canada for vacation. I came to this restaurant with my boyfriend and my family on 7/20/23 for our 4 year anniversary. When someone tells you they were going to be spending over $90 CAD ($68 USD), but then it ended up to be only $16 CAD ($12 USD), take that with a very bad sign to NOT GO.

Red Flags:

  1. Table was not cleaned off. There were crumbs left on our table, even under the menus! It was very sticky as well. I had to use two Lysol wipes I had to get it decently clean.
  2. There was no silverware at our table. I had to ask for two sets of silverware and napkins as well.
  3. Dust everywhere! Fans and overhead lights should be cleaned regularly to prevent dust from falling in customers' food and drinks. You could tell it has been years since the carpet was deep cleaned, There were a lot of stains.
  4. Could barely here the music so you can easily hear others' conversations and eating.
  5. When the waitress come over to take our order she put a glass of water on our table. I assumed it was for another table. But after she took our drink order, she just left the water on our table, not even in front of one of us, it was near the edge of the table. If she was bringing water for us, why bring only 1? Why leave it on the edge of the table? Why not even say anything about it? It was very odd.
  6. A dead spider fell from the ceiling and almost landed in my boyfriends' drink.
  7. The cocktail I ordered (blue raspberry soda) was overpoured with alcohol.
  8. Food took 40 minutes to come out and wasn't even that hot, only the plates were. We ordered our food around 8:32pm and our food come out close to 9:10pm.

I had the Gnocchi Alfredo and my boyfriend got the Lobster & Bacon Mac & Cheese Gratin. Unacceptable. First of all, my alfredo was doused in so much butter that it just became soup and wasn't the normal creamy alfredo. The chicken didn't taste fresh, and it was just so bland. I took two bites and told, not asked, TOLD the waitress to send it back AND to take it off the bill (first time I've had to do that). She gladly took it off the bill.

My boyfriend shared the rest of his meal with me (which wasn't a lot to even satisfy one person). Our waitress, Either Nicole or Natalie (I can't remember her name) was very nice and ended up taking both meals off the bill, so we only paid for our two drinks. She ended up bringing us a free dessert for the trouble and because it was our anniversary, the plate said "Happy Anniversary" on it in chocolate drizzle....We didn't even finish that because the brownie was too dry. A dessert on the house doesn't make up for our experience. We left very unhappy and went back to the house we were staying at and binged food the rest...

Beautiful View, Terrible Service and Food

From the outside, this restaurant looks very nice and offers an amazing view of Niagara Falls. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. If it weren’t for the view, this place would deserve even fewer stars.

My wife and I came here with our service dogs, and the hostess at the door was extremely rude. She demanded “papers” for the dogs, which shows a complete lack of understanding of Canadian accessibility laws. (Under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, staff are not allowed to demand papers for service animals.) When I showed her my phone with documentation anyway, she tossed it back at me carelessly. It almost fell, and when I caught it, she just shrugged as if it didn’t matter. I’ve never seen such disrespectful behavior at a restaurant.

When we sat down, the waitress was just as dismissive. She showed no patience, didn’t smile, and rushed us through ordering—writing down something different than what my wife requested until I corrected her. It felt like she didn’t care at all and just wanted to move on.

The food was equally disappointing. My wife ordered the fish tacos, which were basically greasy fried bread with almost no fish—like drinking oil with a side of tortilla. I had the chicken, which was so dry I wouldn’t feed it to my dogs. The sauce looked and tasted like it came straight out of a can that had been sitting on the shelf for months. Presentation was fine, but the flavors were awful.

This all feels like a serious management issue: staff are untrained in accessibility, the chef clearly lacks culinary skill, and the wait staff seem frustrated and demoralized—probably because they’re stuck serving bad food from a poorly managed kitchen.

If you come here, don’t expect good service or a decent meal. Maybe stop in for a drink and enjoy the beautiful view, but definitely don’t come hungry. Save yourself the disappointment and find somewhere...

I would give this a 3.5 star but I couldn’t give it a 4. I was really hoping this was going to be fantastic given the reputation. The location is idyllic over looking the falls. It was definitely family friendly with a decent menu for kids. The service was very good. Our server checked in regularly and gave updates on the food which was very helpful with hungry kids. The food was unfortunately mediocre at best. The plates were nicely presented. I have the stuffed pepper which was vegetarian. It was by far the best taste wise of the meals. The black bean stuffing was a touch dry but otherwise the meal was enjoyable. There was a nice purée under the pepper which was very complimentary. The veggies on all the plates were very nice, just the right amount of crispness to steamed veggies. We also order 3 of the filet mignon meals. The steaks were all cooked as per the order and decent but definitely far from some of the better filets I’ve had out or at home. The shrimps were a good size and tasty but had way too much sauce on them and were the most enjoyed part of the meal by all. The buttermilk mashed potatoes were terrible. Super dry and crumbly and we have some mashed potatoes lovers in the family…..they were left behind after a few bites. The stuffed chicken was an absolute disaster. My son is a huge chicken fan and was super excited to try it out. The ate about a quarter of the meal because he felt bad given the cost of it. I tried it myself and told him to just leave it. The chicken itself was dry and the filing was probably the worst I have ever eaten. It was extremely dry and pasty even worse than the mashed potatoes. The flavour was very bland and slightly sweet. For something that was supposed to be a goat cheese filling I could detect no flavour at all of any cheese. Our youngest had the chicken fingers which are pretty hard to screw up. Just your 2 standard frozen breaded...

Heaven and Hell. My kids say I'm too nice. Good news is I'm surrounded by amazing experiences, so most reviews are positive. Bad news is we went to the Queen Victor Place Restaurant last night. Ironic as it was the place where Chris and I were married 36 years ago. Good news, Mary, Receptionist got us off to a great start with a smile, a story and a great table. Food is dramatically better than 36 years ago, and they have a new executive chef who worked previously at Cherry Hill Golf. Bad news, service with Ayden and alleged rain that GM Aaron wouldn't allow anyone to open the shades. The point of last night's 36th Wedding Celebration was to SEE THE FALLS! One couple with a screaming child was able to get their shade lifted. Also, bizarre that they arrived after us and got served before. While our second server suggested that I had ordered the slow to prepare Pork Chop, I noted that the guy with the screaming child ordered a Port Chop as well (maybe he had his raw). GM Aaron declined to speak with us. Pork Chop and Ribs were high quality. After 3 unsuccessful attempts to have someone open the shade, we had them put our wonderful Key Lime Pie in a Doggie Bag so we could watch the fireworks under a glorious sky with thousands of other people across the street. Pictures from across the street after we departed. Further snub, while mentioning that we paid for a 160 person wedding in that exact room 36 years ago, no one offered a free drink, desert, or anything. Get rid of Aaron.
