I ordered takeout from them last night and was unimpressed. I thought based on the reviews I would take a chance because it was my mom’s last night visiting from BC and we wanted a special treat. Perhaps I’m used to really good Indian food, but the food was average at best. We ordered three main dishes - butter chicken, the Bombay Maachi (fish dish) and The shrimp Tikka Masala, three garlic naan and the Fryer Platter. While the flavours were alright, the texture of our main dishes (except the butter chicken) were just strange. They weren’t creamy but watery and chunky/grainy. Sort of like when your hollandaise sauce separates. The shrimp Tikka Masala for $18 was small and had very few of the cheapest shrimp you can buy. The naan was also very dense and not crispy at all. The only thing I really liked was the Fryer Platter, the samosas were good but tiny and the mint chutney wasn’t good. Anyways for $80 I really expected better and am really regretting spending my money here. Won’t be back. I’ll just have to go to Scarborough and Toronto for good Indian food. Very disappointing.

Underwhelmed. First time eating from Spicy Affairs. As a brown person I’m very underwhelmed. I’ve had far better flavours at cheaper prices. The rice was the downfall, they used traditional spices that I’m used to but the taste was not as intense as i hoped from an Indian restaurant (not talking about spicyness). The chicken is okay, decent portion size. It also came with chickpeas and a naan. All of it is okay, if i had to choose one word it’s underwhelmed. As much as i love Indian food i definitely will be going to other spots even though they’re farther from home. Service was great, i was greeted by every employee and they were nice. Store was clean and tidy, i pass by the store multiple times daily and it’s always nice inside. I do not recommend this place if you’re looking for the best desi food, they should take notes from PakHalal’s flavours, it’s a world of difference (authentic flavours)

We started off our meal with a Naan Platter. The various types of naan were all delicious with the cheese one being my favorite. This was served with a delicious tomato sauce that tasted like the sauce used in Butter Chicken A+++ We had a small group and ordered a variety of dishes. I personally ordered a Meat thali which came with two meat options and one veg option. I opted for Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala. For my veg option I chose Chana Masala. Everything was flavorful and delicious. I tried a few bites of some of my friends dishes and I enjoyed everything I sampled. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice. It's small inside, but lovely. I parked a block away and walked there. There is a public parking lot beside the bank that you can park in though, which I discovered after. Staff were all friendly and my experience was overall a pleasant one. I'll definitely be back!

We just drop here instantly today after Apple Picking, we based our Indian Hotel Resto based on the Google Reviews and there wasn't so much of a choices in Oshawa anyways... The place was a bit small, the delivery must have another door, not in the main entrance when customers eat, and trying to check the Restaurant ambiance too. The Server, hmmm... they are nice but they should be train in terms of Customer Relations, like you have to give the Lunch Menu and other Menu's too so that your customer have several varieties right?... The sliding door was a headache, because we were sitting behind it and my boyfriend's elbow was always on the "danger zone..." because of the people coming in and out of the door and they keep opening and closing the stupid door. So while eating, please keep your eye on your elbow too. Just so to let you know k...

The food on the other hand... I may say., it's cheap but it's not that bad. It's not that superb but at the same time, the cost and quality is very good! We ordered the Beef Biryani, that comes with Raita without extra charge unlike other Indian Resto... The Raita was very creamy and nicely done! 5 star for that :) The Fish was tasty too and the Mango Chicken... It also comes with a Channa Salad, that makes the whole meal a little fancy without spending too much... Make...

Food is always good, but what I and others who I was dining with didn't like was hearing the owner talk down to his employees right in front of customers. If he wanted to correct or improve something good on him for caring about the business, but he shouldn't be embarrassing his employees in front of customers. That's something that should be a private conversation. I also didn't like how he interpreted our dinner to ask us how the food was. We didn't even realize he was the owner at first as he was dressed very casually in a durham college sweater and never even introduced himself, thought he was just some random man interrupting us (which wouldn't be that unusual in downtown oshawa). The owner came in to dine with a woman, almost as if he was "testing" the employees. Seemed like a huge power move once again, shouldn't be done in front of customers. Felt bad for the employees. We also had to ask for literally everything, more water, CUTLERY (yes really), takeout containers (which are insanely tiny), even our drinks we ordered. Had to flag someone down every time and they were...
