I like to come here for a variety of asian food including a large bottle of Laksa soup flavouring, costing about $12 nowadays. Pricy but last for a while and the flavour is pretty good. I do appreciate their deals in meats or seafood. They really try to promote their snacks and the price of these snacks are okay when on special but I do know another place that at regular price is about the same so we know not to buy those snacks unless we cannot get it at this other place nearby. Their pricing is sometimes off with their flyer so you have to really watch it and speak to Customer Service if you do run into this issue - actually another customer was the one that brought me to complain with him about the fish being $1/ lb more than what the flyer says. Also, they do not make it easy to give me the discount even if the flyer discount starts the next day from the evening I bought it beforehand. Another time, they charged me for instant noodles which had a huge sign with $3.98 each package but they managed to charge me $7.98 if I recall correctly. I called them the next morning when I realized and they told me to bring the items and bills in and when I came in, they asked me who told me and show them the discount sign but by this day that I came in (I live in Vancouver so cannot pop into Richmond everyday), the signage had changed; I am 110% saw that sign as when my daughter told me the price, I told her we should get more. So they did not give me the discount because we had already eaten part of the package and only refunded for the other full package. I just returned all and every noodles there as the other place nearby has much better pricing regardless on sale or not. Most recently, I was charged for eight boxes of bubble tea ice cream popsicle a higher price because it was the night before their flyer sale which was my error, so I called into Foody two times, and was arranging for my husband who is working in his North Delta office (me in Vancouver) to come by end of his work, as I was able to take a picture of the bill and they could easily refund the difference. I had bought $36 of this ice cream with $112 plus total bill but they insist that I have to bring in the items with the bill but it was not worth my while to drive to Richmond unless we were passing by and they also said that I have to return/ get money difference within 24 hours even though I was not really wanting a refund. So they are not very accommodating and watch for their pricing against their flyer and pricing for dry goods are not really that great a deal! Good for their meat, fish/ seafood or some vegetable, maybe...

This grocery store cuts corners and won’t throw out unsafe expired, molded foods. There are grocery stores sell “ about to expire foods” at a lower price but this grocery store sells “ expired foods” at a lower price. The expired moldy foods contain unsafe bacteria. It is unsafe to consume molded stale fruits. They should be composted and written off and not transfer the costs to the customer!!
I disagree with their way of doing business seen with the tragedy of selling unsafe cooked foods to offset costs which costed the lives on customers expense!!! MAKE SURE BECAREFUL to check your groceries before you buy!! Actually to be sure, DON’T BUY from here!!! I don’t trust the way they do business here! Better go to T&T backed up by Loblaws.
First bad experience was prior to the cooked foods tragedy. We purchased expensive snake fruits, upon opening a nightmare of insects broke out of the snake fruit!!!! As normal reaction to contain the spread, I chucked out the whole prepackaged box and bagged it 4 times and chucked it out. Due to concern to the public, I called the super market to notify them to check the fruits. But to surprise the fruits were still being sold on the shelves with the next few weeks after the horrific incident. They don’t care about customer safety or complaints!!!
Second bad experience was 2 days ago, I sometimes buy reduced cost fruits at another grocery store where it is packaged in clear plastic bag and you can see there is no mold but just to expire, that’s fine. But here they package the fruits covering up the moldy stale parts to deceive the customer the fruits are still okay to consume but actually not when you get home, you see the moldy stale parts. They also put a label “ final sale” to try to cover their ass. We are talking about foods people consume that directly causes sickness and death here.
The way they do business is wheel you in with cheap prices with unsafe foods for you to buy. Their no trust here. Really if you care about the health safety of you and your family, better off pay a little extra and go to other larger franchise grocery stores like even Costco. Don’t take chances! You only have one life that can get sick or even death by buying from this unethical grocery store!!! If you decide to buy here, make sure you double check the freshness of whatever you buy!!!...
Read moreGood points about this place.
Large shopping area with thousands of varieties to suit virtually all Chinese pallets except for "cooked foods". Their stall was closed due to some health issues by Health authorities a few years ago when they first open. After that the management simply shut that down. They simply did not want to fight on this issue.
Varieties are great, but quality at times are a hit and miss. Shoppers have to be careful selecting fresh produce and meat products.
Check out counters are in abundance, but seldom open more than a third, or six counters regardless the long queue over ten deep.
Return policy is available, but "customer service" personnel are definitely NOT customer friendly. I have to return fresh produce a few times or simply dispose of some. The most recent time was 5/21/2019. The attitude is as if the customer, me, is trying to cheat the Store even with unopened, undamaged packages.
I returned two packages of Vietnamese Dragon Fruits on the next day of purchase due to the fact that the fruit has appeared rotted already. I was accused that these fruits were not purchased only a day ago, to have I taken some other rotten fruit to exchange for credit, despite the fact that the weight was identical to the receipt and the receipt was dated a day prior. The customer service counter would not give me a refund, and called the produce manager. That was fine, but the manager basically said the same thing until he saw the unopened packages, and exact weight on the receipt. After much to do, he simply walked away without acknowledging whether to refund or not to me. I demanded an answer, and was told that they are working on it. Claimed some issues with the cashier who had checked me out the day before. What kind of mistake, I do not understand or care. That was not my issue. Finally a credit was made. It took over twenty minutes up to then.
As I was walking out, the manager returned, and ask me for the receipt again, claiming that he need to take a photo and show the cashier where the mistake was made. Another 5 minutes.
Overall the "customer service" staff are disrespectful, insulting, inefficient, and do not know what they need to do.
I feel sorry...
