Neptune Seafood Market in Ucluelet is a hidden gem for anyone serious about fresh, local seafood. Colleen is incredibly helpful, friendly, and full of great recommendations. She suggested we try the Brill, and it turned out to be an excellent choice! The fish was light and delicately buttery with a firm, clean texture, pairing beautifully with our dinner of dashi bok choy and Naas rice.

We had initially debated whether to “save the fish for later” and choose something easier, but after Colleen’s enthusiastic recommendation, we felt it would be a disservice to her good taste not to give it a try. The Brill ended up stealing the show at dinner! (A quick shoutout to Naas for the flavorful mix we added to our rice and dashi bok choy.)

Neptune Seafood Market & Processing is an absolute gem! As tourists, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Crystal went above and beyond, taking extra time to chat with us and even guiding us down to the docks for a close-up view of the sea lions—a memorable highlight! The seafood was outstanding, easily a 10/10 for freshness and quality. Hidden gem you have to stop by when in Ukee!! Came here after seeing Google reviews and it did not disappoint.

We bought the salmon pot pie, salmon pepperoni, west coast (prawn) cakes, scallops, and both of their chowder flavours. The seafood is absolutely fresh and everything we bought tasted 200/100 and blew our socks right off.

Crystal (owner) and her husband were so personable and served us so very well whilst we were asking for recos on what to get, and they even recommended us key places to eat and visit in town.
