Paddle West Kayaking — Local services in Ucluelet

This was our second time going out with paddle west kayaking and it made us realize how lucky we got the first time. The FIRST time we went we had Mandy as a guide in Tofino and she was absolutely amazing.

Her knowledge of the area and wildlife was exceptional. She pointed out all the local wild life even the everyday ones like starfishes, sea anemone crabs and the jelly fish that people visiting the area come to see. she took us along the coast so we could see all the cool wildlife that lives in the shallow water. if we go for anther paddle we will request Mandy as a guide again.

This second time we had a different guild and went in ucluelet was a much different experience. he took us along the shore at the start for a bit but it seemed for most of the tour we where just paddling in the middle of bay nowhere near anything because the water was calm.

Giving it 4 starts because the first time was so amazing it kinda makes up for this times disappointment other wise I would of given it 2 starts and probably would try a different paddle company next time.

it wasn't bad overall but because we now know how good it could be we didn't feel like we got our moneys worth this...

We recently had a great trip with Paddle West. When we showed up for our tour it was quite windy. Since we were experienced kayakers they gave us the option to go out in a double kayak (more stable) or come back another day if we would be more comfortable. We ended up going for it and it was so fun! The waves were quite high and the wind strong but it made it an adventure (albeit a wet one). The scenery is absolutely beautiful. We did the tofino tour out to Meres Island. Our guide Marianne was excellent. She was super friendly and knowledgable. She shared a lot about the history of the area and all about the animals. She was such a great guide when we got to the trails on Meres Island as well. We really enjoyed our time with her. She also made sure to check in regularly with us to make sure everyone was comfortable in the conditions and even stopped to take pictures of us which she airdropped to us at the end. I would highly recommend the trip. It was a super reasonable...

Especially to our guide Katie - she was professional, fun, and full of great stories and information about Ucluelet, First Nations history, and local wildlife. She took us to a beautiful little beach where we had lunch. The weather was perfect, and the color of the water was absolutely stunning.
