The highlight of our vacation lodging experiences. Sandra and Brent have thought of everything in this unique and intimate Inn. They coordinate with you to be available when you arrive and upon arrival Brent greeted us and took our bags up to our room. Not having any set plans for our trip, he shared his expertise on Ucluelet and the surrounding areas. His tips for when to visit Long Beach, where to park to miss crowds, making sure that we accounted for the timing of the tide schedule, made our visit to Ucluelet perfect. We were able to follow most all of his recommendations during our short two-day stay. He provided us with intimate knowledge on the local dining scene, including which chefs were on the rise and which restaurants provided the best dining experiences, in terms of food and drinks (local beers, wine lists). Brent has an intimate knowledge of the area, being on the tourism board and is able to provide the most helpful information on where to go and what to do. A bottle of wine was also a perfect welcome gift and well enjoyed in the hot tub! Brent recommended and secured a reservation for us at Pluvio, which was the most incredible dining experience that my wife and I have ever enjoyed.
The rooms are beautifully appointed. It is clear how much thought went into every detail, from the dishes that are available under the sink, the toiletries that are available, the charging stations within the room, the table top buttons to turn on the lamps, the sandals to visit the hot tub. A Keurig is available with coffee; creamer and sugar is also provided. Separate towels are provided for the hot tub. Umbrellas are available in case of rain. Brochures are provided for all of the local attractions. The latest in technology is put to good use with smart locks on the doors and a Ring video doorbell in order to call Brent and Sandra for immediate attention. They are also available by phone/text if any issues arise. Netflix is available on the TV (we ended up not watching anything).
The hot tub was such a delight after a day of hiking 10 miles along the Pacific Rim Trail and Wild Pacific Trail. They even provide silicone wine glasses for enjoying wine in the hot tub. The bed is incredibly comfortable. We loved the room, nice and spacious and we so appreciated the thoughtful attention, both in the cultivation of such a great space as well as during the stay itself. Thanks Brent and Sandra! We loved Ucluelet and the Francis Inn and...
Read moreWe stayed at the Inn for our babymoon and overall had a nice time. We let them know in advance that it was a special trip, and the staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived. They left a lovely note acknowledging our baby moon and congratulations :) The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable — a great spot to relax.
Unfortunately, our first night was a bit disappointing due to noisy neighbors who were up until about 2am making a fair amount of noise inside and outside. It made it hard to get the rest we were really hoping for, especially since this trip was meant to be a peaceful getaway before the baby arrives, and the Inn states a no noise after 10pm request of guests. What was disappointing was my husband having to be the initiator to go and ask the group next to our room (we were in the Queen Suite main floor at the back, #5) at 2am to please let us sleep as this had been going on for quite some time.
The rest of our stay was enjoyable, but the noise that first night did leave us with mixed feelings, hence the 3 stars. For the price we paid for 2 nights, we were not expecting it to be a “party space” location. Still, it’s a lovely place overall and location — just something to consider if you’re looking for a...
Read moreEverything about this place was great, from its location in the centre of town to the high quality, well-appointed rooms and the friendly lady who couldn't do more to assist us.||||We stayed for 3 nights and it was a perfect place for us to use as a base to explore the local area. The room (suite 2) was big, bright, had a very comfortable bed and a great view of the water and forest / mountain behind - for those that care, the wi-fi was also good! There is also a small kitchen area with a sink and fridge (and a microwave if I recall) and a table with a couple of chairs, so certainly a lot of space that made it feel less like a hotel room and more like a small suite. The bath / shower are not separated from the main room, which might be an issue for some visitors, but it was fine for us.||||From a location perspective, it was great - easy to find, plenty of parking and walking distance to the local supermarket, a couple of coffee shops and most of the restaurants.||||The one minor point is that it was a little pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for and it was certainly a great stay worth paying a...
