My husband and I had spent a lot of time enjoying Tofino last week but had a long drive ahead of us that night so we stopped here for dinner. Great view! Sat on the patio enjoying it with a brew and then our meals arrived. Unfortunately, right in the ketchup of my husbands meal was a long hair. Hey it happens so we went to flag down the waiter and he was either not around or very busy at other tables. No one ever came back to check on us. We sat with uneaten meals for a long time. Finally we called him over. Young man, striped shirt, heard the complaint and just took the plate. No sorry, no apology, no offer to bring something else. We were stunned. So we yelled back at him to please not charge us. He could have cared less. We paid the tab and as I left I told a female employee at the bar. She was nice but just said sorry. Did not ask how the bill was settled, if she could help with something to go..understating things happen, but it’s how you deal with it and this place not only ignored dealing with it but didn’t seem to even care. We will not return on...

The Stout That Punched Me in the Soul

Walked into Ucluelet Brewing Company thinking I’d have a casual beer. Walked out questioning my life choices in the best possible way. That stout? Absolute sorcery. Smooth, dark, rich, and by far the strongest I’ve ever had. Not strong like “oh I feel this,” but strong like “am I about to write poetry on a driftwood log?”

I took one sip and immediately felt like I could wrestle a bear. Or at least a raccoon with attitude. You don’t drink this stout. You experience it. Somewhere between the second and third sip I reached enlightenment. By the fourth, I considered calling my ex just to apologize for not being more emotionally available.

It hit so hard I’m pretty sure Chuck Norris himself nodded in respect. This isn’t just a beer. It’s a black belt in a glass.

On top of the beer-induced spiritual awakening, the vibe here is incredible. Warm wood beams, killer ambiance, and friendly staff who somehow knew I needed water without asking.

Ten out of ten. Would absolutely get drop-kicked by that stout...

Got here late so kitchen was closed but wanted drinks anyhow. I ordered a flight, beers were solid, Porter was as advertised malty chocolate, I found it to finish sweet but overall ok, IPA was nice piney, now I also went for the cranberry sour. I found it to be more a tart beer, I was amazed at how much I enjoyed this as I usually don't care for cranberry. I also got the hazy, this beer is well balanced juice goodness.

Now the wifey got the Koko Hipster Punch, this is the Kolsch mixed with Tofino apricot kombucha, this was stellar. Awesome play on a Shandy, so easy to drink and a must try if you go.

Staff were very polite, service was on point. I was looking for a 4 pack of hazy to bring home but was sold out. Just to be safe they checked downstairs to see if any had just been canned.

Location is very nice and you can definitely see the church in the space.

Overall very happy to have stopped by, can't wait for this to be available in Lower Mainland.

I am...

Out of beer, (ipa) that says it all accompany that with a boaring food menu and I’m not comeing back. Before you decide to critique my grammar read your own! (With n production). Don’t tell me to broad my horizons on beer, I do by trying new IPA’s, maybe don’t tell customers what beer they should or not drink. Get a guest keg, don’t give them an excuse just say sorry. As for your menu, it speaks volumes by looking at it, say you’re going to change it in three months, or better yet take the super high road and invite me back. Instead you took the low road, and tried to insult a customer, I just lowered the review more. Thanks for showing your true colours as a business 😊.

Literally the world's best pub. One of my most favourite places in the world. Great drinks. Great views. Eagles and bears visible from the terrace. Bring binoculars and nature watch with a bevvy Nuts and bolts a nice addition to a beer or two Spent part of my honeymoon in ucluelet and this was the place to be after a days exploring the coast, nature and town. Staff friendly, helpful and quick to offer you some service. Can't recommend it enough. Five stars is the max I can give but would give more if I could.
