I went in at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening, it was hardly busy, and all of the people that were seated at tables, had their food in front of them. There was a pair of people in front of me looking at a menu, one of them asked if they had dairy free options for cheese, the lady behind the counter snapped back at her, "NOPE, we don't do that here." Then turned to me and asked if she could help me. That should have been my first clue as to how my encounter with this woman was going to play out. I asked her if it'd be much of a wait for a large takeout pepperoni pizza, she said 20-25 minutes, which was not bad considering the place up the road was an hour and a half. She asked if she should punch it in, and I said sure. But before she started, I asked if I could have pepperoni just on half, because I have a picky 4 year old who only likes cheese pizza. She said no, I kind of laughed, figuring she was joking, she remained straight faced, which prompted me to ask if she was serious; she said she was. That seemed absurd to me, so I asked why. She said it was because it was only her working out front and one cook in the back. An absolutely ridiculous, unacceptable excuse. If anything, pep on half would save the cook about 4 seconds. Instead, her attitude and power struggle wasted 30 seconds of her, oh-so-precious time, as I walked out the door, dumbfounded, without placing an order. Thinking back, trying to make sense of her nonsensical rambling, it's become blatantly obvious why the only other pizza joint in town had an hour and a half wait compared to their 20. Do yourself a favour, go up the road and wait the...
Read moreWe called multiple times for take out but no one answered so we decided to go in for food but were faced with a very uninterested hostess who gave off a strong "whatever" tone. She said we can get immediate seating outdoors but indoors has a wait therefore we chose outdoors but then ended up waiting 30min watching her being hostile to other customers until we decided to check in with her again where she then told us that there's no seating for all of us on balcony because these two couples were really taking their time so she went up to the two couples enjoying there dinner and asked "are you guys gonna leave or?"; Minutes later the couple left very weirded out, understandably. When she came back to us we asked to order for take out instead and mentioned how our calls earlier weren't heard to which she dismissively said it's cause they cut the phone lines because they were receiving too many calls. (cutting the phone lines is not a sustainable solution and indirectly shows you are rejecting potential customers) After we finally placed our orders, we waited another 30min in the car to shelter from the rain and ended up with soggy food cause they didn't have a service to take down customer phone numbers or even took down our name so we had to go back in to check up on the food ourselves. When my friend went in to pick up she was faced with more unpleasant attitude from the staff. Overall their staff is very unprofessional and the way they manage covid protocols seems very last minute. Cedar Grill does not know how to respectfully accomodate their customers and their food is...
Read moreWorst restaurant experience we've had in a long time.
We got two pizzas and both looked like they were made at different restaurants; pretty bad consistency, especially when they're both made on the same night. The first bite made me think I was eating a frozen pizza from the grocery store. Before I could even say that thought out loud, my fiancée told me she thought it tasted like a frozen pizza. So clearly this wasn't just my opinion.
The salad was advertised as having crostini and bacon. It barely had any bacon and no crostini. When I asked the server if he could bring us the crostini, he informed me that they might be out (no previous mention of this), but that he'd look into it and let me know. He never came back to the table again after this until we finished our meal, yet we watched him giving every other table attention while ignoring us for 15 minutes. Pretty expensive for lettuce with dressing and a slice of bacon.
We also asked if we could switch tables because ours had a cold draft coming in from outside, but he told us somewhat rudely that we couldn't, for no good reason (there was no one else waiting for a table at this point).
The only thing this place had going for it was the nice atmosphere.
Very disappointing to have this experience when taking my fiancée's family out for dinner on her mother's birthday. If you think I'm just a bad customer that has high demands, feel free to read my other reviews and see that I usually give most places 5 stars and am pretty easy-going. This...
