So good that we ate here three times during our week-long stay in Ucluelet!!! My favourite was the BBQ chicken pizza which I added pineapple to, and the balance of sweet, smoky, and tangy flavours was spot on! The staff mentioned that they make their dough and sauces from scratch, and you can really taste the difference that makes. And their spicy margaritas… easily the best I’ve ever had!! I’d recommend this place for those margaritas alone! I also tried the watermelon drink which was light, refreshing, and perfect for summer. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. I only wish my stomach was bigger so that I could’ve tried more items from their menu. The servers were very friendly, and the restaurant itself was super cute with its ship-themed decor. 100% would recommend if you’re in town!

An ok pizza resto in Ucluelet. Positive: Wings and pizza were good overall. Not-so-positive: Prices are premium (which is not necessarily a problem…) but for those prices the pizza toppings were very skimpy; definitely more sausage and veggies are needed (see pic). The ~$30 single large pizza (no specials) was mostly sauce, cheese and crust. Wings were very tasty but again ~10 small wings cost ~$18. Total was ~$57 for 1 large pizza plus 1 order of 10 small wings with tax and tip. This is roughly double the price for comparable in Vancouver. Understandably in Ucluelet a premium could be charged for us tourists, but the amount of food for the price could be better.

So you know when you travel from the mainland to the island and you rent an Airbnb in Ucluelet and its your birthday so you look on Google for a resturaunt and you arent sure what to order so you look up pizza joints and you stumble upon a hidden gem. Yea this is that place! The crust is one of if not the best crust we have ever had! And we like our pizza. Loaded with delicious toppings. We had barbecue roasted chicken pizza and Pepperoni and Bacon, our young child enjoyed the pizza and even went back for seconds! We also enjoyed the 4 Peg Leg Drumsticks, cooked to perfection and delicious. The Hoison Ginger and Barbeque flavors were yummy! 10/10 recommend 👌

What’s happened to this town?! We haven’t been here since just before COVID started. Everywhere we used to go to has either closed forever or is closed due to the holidays so we have had to try places we haven’t in the past…. So far it’s been mainly failures. We ordered at 16:44. Our order arrived at 18:23. Soooo about 1 hour and 45 minutes for pizza and meat balls. We were told it would be here in about an hour. Pizza arrived cold with all the cheese hard. Luckily the Suite we are in has a kitchen so we were able to reheat the pizza ourselves but of course that’s never as good as out of a pizza oven. The meatballs came cold all the way through. I bit one and spit it out. Had to reheat those as well. This pizza and meatballs had clearly been sitting around for at least an hour. Driver said “sorry we have had car troubles all night”… that’s nice. Maybe a phone call? We were about to just leave and go to the hotel restaurant. We ordered 2 small pizzas, meatballs, 2 dips and it came to almost $65 with tax and delivery. I N S A N E. the pizza was bad too. Oil has saturated the crust and the mozzarella they use must be super salty because our mouths hurt like we had been eating salt and vinegar chips all day. The pictures and reviews looked good but this has been the worst pizza experience of our lives. We usually go with Abbondanza when here… was closed today unfortunately. We have no problem for paying a premium for GOOD pizza but this was so bad. I love pizza and will eat leftovers for breakfast… We each ate 1 slice of each pizza and threw it out. Sad. Yes I know delivery pizza is never as good as fresh, but what we got would have been subpar even for a Little Caesar’s (barf). Please try harder. See pics of clearly hard cheese...

I hope to live long enough to become the best customer that Shipwreck Pizza has ever had. Alas, this place is so wonderful that there is a decent chance that there is a long list of long-standing customers with the same aspiration! If you like a place with great food and little pretence then you will likely get a kick out of Shipwreck Pizza. Go here. Go here for sho! I am back again. Certainly because the pizza is great ( as is the Caesar salad) but much more so because they know how to make people feel valued and comfortable. The "they" in this case is Kaila who has done an outstanding job on each of my visits this far so I get the sense that this is no fluke. When I first phoned to find out if they were showing the baseball game on tv the response was that we could select what we wanted (there are two screens) and that I should definitely come in . Kaila was super-inviting and I am very glad that I took her up on the invitation! Once there, I received a very warm welcome, the game of my choice spontaneously materialized on the screen, my beverage appeared in front of me all while she simultaneously and single-handedly made everyone else feel at home and fed them too! You could tell that Kaila wasn't just performing for tips; she genuinely seems to care and that made a significant contribution to my enjoyment of the evenings. I would like to thank Shipwreck Pizza and Kaila for two wonderful experiences there. Hoping...

My partner and I got into Ucluelet pretty late and settled on Shipwreck as a recommendation by the front desk staff. We ordered the house hot wings with ranch as well as a large pizza of half Kraken, half Davey Jones. Prices felt a "little" much, but overall great value for quality of food in a tourist city.

The hot wings were delicious! For take out, they remained crispy and juicy despite not being eaten for at least 15 minutes afyer pick up. The house hot sauce was nice. The classic Buffalo flavour you would love with a bit of a sweeter twist. Great warmth.

The pizza crust is perfect. It is a good thickness, fluffy inside, and golden and buttery on the outside. Toppings wise, the Kraken half was quite good, I wouldn't say there was anything unique or remarkable about the toppings as a whole. Davey Jones was a different story. Great flavour combination and everything came together perfectly for a very solid "perogy" pizza. Very pleased overall.

Wings 9/10 Pizza 9/10

What sealed the deal for us for future recommendations was the friendliness met by what turned out to be the owner, Tom. Fantastic personality and a great host who gave us suggestions for places to check out in Tofino and Ukee for the rest of our stay. We tried all of the ones that we could and we were pleased with...
