This was my second year fishing with Cameron Ocean Adventures. I am not the type of person to sit down and write reviews at all but felt compelled. I have fished in Lodges all over the West Coast most notably I have fished the Salmon Masters tournament in the Haida Gwaii 8 years in a row at Hippa Island with Westcoast resorts. I can honestly say my yearly trip will no longer be up north it will be with Cameron Ocean Adventures EVERY TIME..I have been on a lot of boats with a lot of different guides. I was lucky and have had Ryan be my guide for the day both years so far. He is high energy on the boat, works hard, always has the gear down quick and we have had nothing short of AWESOME success both years in a row. Ryan and his brother Caleb are born and raised locals from the area and it shows. Ryan has put us on the fish effortlessly right away. Boat is super comfortable plenty of room to have a good scrap with a Chinook in the back and a nice heated cabin with comfortable seating if you are out in the cold or rain....I could go on and on about the boat and especially Ryan. To keep is short and simple if you are looking for a seriously good time on the water stop scrolling around and comparing do yourself a favor call and book these guys IMMEDIATELY. Thank you Ryan and Caleb for another stellar day on the water. I live for my yearly fishing trips and will be back year after year to fish with Cameron Ocean...
Read moreHad an incredible and magical day whale watching with Cameron Ocean Adventures last weekend -- honestly, still buzzing thinking about it.
The boat ride itself was super enjoyable -- we saw sea lions and went around some of the Broken Group Islands. And then we saw the whale. At first we were all just thrilled seeing it come up for air and swimming around -- and then out of nowhere it did a big jump in front of our boat, and also some big tail flaps (5-6 times). It was absolutely breathtaking.
It's easy for me to recommend Cameron for whale watching -- the boat is a bit smaller (I've been on other whale watching tours where the boat is bigger and packed with many people) so it is more intimate and you can walk around (never feels crowded) and switch up your vantage point. There were 6 of us on the boat that day. The crew members on board were super knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife (thanks for answering all my questions!) and I was also happy to learn about the indigenous names of islands and mountains. On our way back, the boat also stopped to get some debris/garbage out of the ocean that was floating. It's clear that the team has a deep respect for community and territory and take great care to offer a great experience for guests -- I was so happy to be guided by them.
I hope to go out with them again -- the experience was absolutely incredible and I felt in...
Read moreWhere to start with this tour company! It's high season but I didn't want to book tickets and not go or possibly lose out as my mother is elderly and we didn't know if she could get in and out of the boat with her bad knee. Caleb (the owner) and the rest of the crew showed great empathy and care when they were dealing with us. They are all about giving you a positive experience. They held the seats for us and allowed us to come down early to try it out. They made a group effort to help my mother get into and out of the boat and kept checking in with her the entire trip. On the way to and from the boat, climbing the steep ramp, they were there the entire way to make sure she was okay even though it was a turtles pace. They actually cared!
On to the actual tour. They made every effort and were successful in tracking down whales and additional sea and wild life. The live narrative was absolutely fantastic; filled with facts, personal observations, scientific explanations and theories, indigenous knowledge and traditions and other cool topics. The crew were super friendly and engaging to everyone on the boat.
Whale watching was a bucket list item for my parents and they made sure that it was off the charts! (pun intended).
Thank you for making a dream come true and ensuring that it was such a...
