I think that the gulf islands attract artists, for whatever reason. Ucluelet is certainly the kind of town that would be in a good position to show some of these talents off. A beautifully set up shop. It packs a tonne of items without feeling too cluttery. We just dropped in for some window shopping and to pick up some gift items and souvenirs to take back home, but the paintings and art work were so good that we simply could not tear our eyes away from them. Most of the paintings and carvings were done by local artisans and the First Nation craftsmen. But being from overseas the paintings and sculptures were too big for us to take in an airplane.
