This is a beautiful pool with an amazing view. Thanks to recent renovations it's not as freezing cold as it used to be and people can finally enjoy being in the water for a long time without turning blue. I have no complaints about the pool at the moment but only give it 3 stars because of the issues around the pool.
The bathrooms and change rooms are absolutely disgusting. The floor in the change room was flooded 2 days in a row with a massive puddle in the middle. The super wet floors are a slip and fall hazard for everyone especially children and seniors. The toilets are atrocious! The yucky wet floors with hair everywhere, dirty toilets, doors that don't lock. Yuk!
What bugs me is that there are actual solutions for this mess. There are special hard plastic mesh tiles for that specific reason. Water goes through them to the actual floor underneath and people walk on non slippery dry-ish surface and if they accidentally drop a towel or piece of clothing on the floor it's not drenched in gross toilet water. Also they need to hire a full time cleaner for the bathrooms. Just like in the malls.
The grass area around the pool is really dry and creates such a sticky mess of dry grass and dirt on towels and clothes. Why don't we get rid of the grass all together and replace it with sand or small gravel or water it to keep it green? Perhaps add more lounge chairs etc.
How about selling some decent snacks? It's a good revenue for the pool too. People have to leave the pool area to go get a sandwich or coffee. That's so inconvenient. Why not have a small store there instead of the vending machine? I bet if they offer fresh fruit like berries it'll sell like hot cakes.
Final tip: if you want to do serious swimming and get a few uninterrupted laps go after 6 or 7 pm. It's much less busy and most kids are...
Read moreHello! If you want to have an amazing time here, I have some great tips for you:
Take a moment to enjoy the beautiful view and keep a positive attitude. Leave any negativity at home, because we all love being around positive people! Wear your bathing suit under your clothes and use the washroom before you arrive so that you won't need to use the changing room facilities. Before using the pool, be sure to take a quick shower in the outdoor shower stalls. Bring your own large towel, jogging pants, and hoodie for easier outdoor changing. Why not grab a drink or some food at the bar/concession stand on the upper level outside the pool. There's no need for an online reservation, as the pool can accommodate 1600 people. Just make sure to check the scheduled times listed on the website, as Google might not have them. The pool is heated and will be open until September 22nd, 2024. The water is clean, but it contains salt and some chlorine, so it's best to avoid opening your eyes underwater unless you have goggles. Hopefully, in the future, the city will have enough funds to renovate the facilities and even hire a washroom attendant to keep things clean. The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful, especially if you're nice and polite. You'll have a fantastic time, just like I always do! There are plenty of racks for bicycle and scooter parking, and the parking lots for vehicles are further down. Free street parking can be a bit tricky in the beach neighborhood, with a maximum of 2 hours, unless you reside...
