Le Tacón Tangobar & Bistró — Restaurant in Santiago

For traditional Chilean food, really well presented by friendly, honest and knowledgeable staff - this is your choice for tonight. We eat out A LOT and the hubby is a passionate cook. Eating and trying new cuisines is what we do when we travel. This restaurant blew us away.

The food is very well cooked at Mamboleta. Flavoursome, inspiring and tantalising. On top of that - reasonably priced. We enjoyed a bottle of Syrah, beef ribs slow cooked in a truly divine broth, crispy potatoes, creamy mushrooms with Gruyère, tomato salad with goats ricotta and out of this world-tasty bacon crackers.

There was only one sad thing about this restaurant and that was that we found it on our last night in town. If we return to Santiago, we'll definitely return to Mamboleta. (Can't wait, to tell...

Firstly the restaurant is confused over what type of food it is offering..pizza, crepes, quiches, meats, pastas. Service was terrible, people were not served in order of arrival and we waited over an hour for food to arrive. The starter came as the same time as the main. A table of 5 people behind us who were ordering as we arrived never received their food the whole time we were there!! I could excuse most of this if the food was good but it's all premade stuff, nothing homemade, no flavour at all. However the cheese board we ordered as a starter came with a mountain of delicious cheese on it but no cooking involved in making that. We are people who regularly read Google reviews to decide on restaurants and I can not believe this...

We were trying to find a cozy and nice place to have a drink after a long day walking around and we were luck to get to Mamboleta in Santiago – Chile where I could finally try the traditional drink named Terremoto and we could have good and tasty snacks enjoying a nice evening with lots of people in the terrace and a great weather outside. Mamboleta is located in a fun street with nice buildings around. The service was good and fast and it was great experience overall.
