Hotel Montecarlo — Hotel in Santiago

This was an interesting hotel located in an exciting/happening location. We were only there for one night before connecting on our return flight home and this hotel was very good for this purpose. It is only a block or so to some of the best restaurants we enjoyed during our stay in Chile. It is also an easy walk to many interesting tourist sites and museums. While not a new hotel, the room more than made up for it in character. The room was clean and the bathroom had all new fixtures. The bed was nice and firm though the pillows were a bit too firm/large for my comfort (I sleep best on very firm mattresses and thin soft pillows). Spent one night after before our flight back to the USA. Recommended by friends for its location and price.||Had room 54, a king. Comfortable room. Breakfast was in our rate and while nothing special was enough to get us moving in the am.||We arrived late at night and appreciated the restaurant Casa Nostradamus being open until 10:30pm for some pasta and cold beer.||There is an elevator but be aware it doesn’t serve all rooms (including 54).||WiFi connection was pretty awful from our room. Ended up in the breakfast area to get decent service.||Location was good. Quiet. Walkable to where we wanted to explore the next day.||Hotel kept our bags during the day as our flight was in the evening....

There are two main advantages of the hotel. Location and price. Perfect for visitors to Santiago. We were very pleased with this, but it was not enough for a very good rating.||I'm not one to complain, but I need an honest opinion so that travelers won't be disappointed. Generally, it wasn't very bad, but: the service in the hotel was not different from average; visa and mastercard debit cards were not supported (I had to use more expensive credit cards); very poor quality wi-fi; outdated rooms; and the worst thing, especially with jetleg, the rooms are located overlooking a busy street and are simply noisy.
