Le Fournil - Lastarria — Restaurant in Santiago

Disclaimer: This review is solely based on the service since I did not have an opportunity to taste the food. I experienced shameful behavior by some members of the staff (especially one of the ladies who supposedly was the manager).

I entered the cafe, kindly asked for a table for 3 people, and the waiter showed us to a table. I put my bag and I briefly stepped out of the cafe for about 30 seconds to call my mom and sister. When I returned with them, the lady (as previously mentioned, presumably the manager) was unaware that I had already been served by her colleague and appeared upset that we had taken the table. We were then asked to change the table without any explanation. Although a bit awkward, we followed the "instructions". :) After waiting for approximately 15 minutes, the waiter returned and claimed that the tables were reserved for long-term customers of the cafe. I tried to explain but didn't attempt to further discuss the issue, as it became evident that we wouldn't be able to communicate effectively due the language barrier.

@Dear La Fournil Team: Please next time communicate and speak with each other to avoid such unpleasant (and for you embarrassing) encounters....

I came for the first time to this Lastarria branch. I knew the brand so I trusted that the quality would be at least the same than other branches such as Vitacura. Unfortunately, it is not. When I arrived I asked what was the dish that took the shortest. They told me "any salad". Which is logic. So I asked the estimated time it would take to be ready. They told me 30minutes. After 30' I asked again and they told me that it will take 20 more minutes. That they were sorry. I was sorry too specially as I had tickets...

This a piece of Europe in Santiago. This restaurant is simply perfect.

Great environment, very helpful and nice staff, the location is very close to Santa Lucia Hills, so you can have a brunch a go visiting the castle.

Besides all that, food is affordable and quite delicious. They are careful and very innovative.

It’s approved. I’m coming back tomorrow before my flight.
